no one from Canada? How strange!

Question: what does "can be linen or chrome" mean? Or is this a case where if you have to ask, you're clearly not the intended audience??

What's up with boycotting Canada?

Poor Canada.

Linen & chrome are vintage postcards. A lot of the linen cards have the big print. Here's a website that explains the different types of postcards. http://www.shilohpostcards.com/webdoc2.htm

It's a little silly that you have one postcard swap go awry with a Canadian and now they are all banned from your swap. :/

Linen cards were printed in the 30s through 50s and they have a cloth-like finish to them, therefore they are called linen. Chrome means any slick-finished postcard. Poor Canada indeed.

IndefatigableL = how do you know that I have only had one bad experience with Canada post? I've been trading cards for years and always have had trouble with swaps to Canada.

VaGrammy, thanks for the link - very informative! Alas, I can't find any large letter cards (my town is strangely limited in postcard purveyors) so I won't be able to join.

camelsamba = you may have to start buying postcards on-line. I have found that gives me much more variety in the cards I can send that way.

Hi all! I wanted to give a special kudo to Gen Lee (Neecie) who sent her card to me timely...and then re-sent when it hadn't arrived after nearly a month. To my great surprise her card (which was clearly mailed on June 24th) arrived yesterday (July 24th). Neecie was extremely lovely and gracious about everything...and clearly went the extra mile. Neecie: I'd love to send you an extra card or two for your trouble, if you'll drop me your addy. Again THANKS. Deborah Garcia

Gen...I got your second Big Letter card while I was away...it is a pleasure to come home to it. Thank you so much! It is fabulous. (the Minnesota one with a dark background, and a lake running through the letters...hadn't seen anything like it before.) Again, many thanks! Deborah
