Description:

In celebration of Litha, also known as Summer Solstice or Midsummer among other names, we will be creating a Ojo de Dios or God's Eye.

How to Make a God's Eye

Ojo de Dios

This is just one site, there are numerous and even video tutorials on how to make a God's Eye. It's not difficult, my son in the 4th grade even made one recently in school.

I would suggest using sunny type colors in honor of the sun god for summer solstice, but this is sender's choice. Red, orange, yellow - all would be great. You can even decorate the ends with more yarn or feathers etc.

EDIT: A few days were added for send-date.

Great swap! :) I'd love to join, but the timing is no good for me... if only there was a week more to send ;-)

Aww, I'm in the middle of selling our house and moving, so all my art supplies including my yarn are all packed up. :( I'll watch it in case I can somehow figure out how to get to my art supplies.

@mamabear I'll add a week to send! @orcasong hope you get to participate.

Wonderful idea! If this swap is put up again, I will definitely join. Unfortunately, it's exam season for me.

@sylvanawolfspaw completely understand!

Count me in! I'll make time for this one :) Very hectic moving, but I think this may help ground me a bit and give me some much needed focus! xo

P.S. My colors may be a little "crazy" but will be made with all good intentions :)

suggested size?

druideye 06/17/2010 #

size of your hand sounds good. I really don't mind whatever size you make it.
