I keep going back To this one, I want to do it but I am not sure if I can do a good enough job. How are they suposed to seal for mailing? I always seal my homemade envies with tape but maybe that isn't good enough....

I always seal my handmade envelopes with glue before using them in the mail. Tape should be fine. There is no requirement that you provide a way to seal them, your partner can use tape, glue or whatever they want.

I'm glad you said that there is no requirement for providing a sealing method.... I just ran out of the double sided tape that I like to use for that... and I prefer to seal my own anyhow! (A glue runner works like a charm!)

Are these envies to be ok for posting in the mail? Some magazine pages are too thin. The covers would work.

SamBuck 05/24/2010 #

They are required to be 3.5" x 5" but you can make them out of any paper you want.

I have all kinds of lovely papers to use for my envelopes.I don't quite get using magazine pages.Aren't they much too thin?

SamBuck 05/28/2010 #

I have used magazine pages in my envelopes in the past, I have used them for mailing too and I haven't had a problem. But I usually use National Geographic and I think those pages are a littler thicker than normal magazine pages....
