Thrift Store Find #4

looking for wedding cake knife and server

this is my first swap, but i guarantee you i am no flake! anyway, i like thrifties from the 40's-70's. i am always on the hunt for unsusual/rare/vintage items that are either kitschy, psychedelic, mod etc. for instance: weird ashtrays, creepy paintings and knicknacks, conversation pieces, trippy fabric (pillows/curtains/blankets), and vintage handmade items. you get the idea...and they don't have to be expensive. i usually find these things in locally owned thrift stores. well...i hope a lot of people join this one! i cant wait to start trading!

I like Vintage tea cups with saucers, fancy hankies, linens, fabric, old music books. and cute dolls like Strawberry Shortcake, Polly Pocket, (something I guess I lost in my childhood), and I collect snow people, turkeys, and vintage fabrics. Oh almost forgot I like milk glass containers (no flower vases please) like candy dishes, floral frogs, small bowls, etc...

East TexMoles, I think we're cut from the same cloth. Love the tea cups, hankies, dolls etc.

Is there a dollar minimum on the treasure hunt? This does sound like fun.

I love and collect Vintage tea cups and saucers. I also like vintage lace or ribbon, sunflowers, oh anything makes me happy!!

Idon't like to put a price on any of my swaps. One mans junk is another mans treasure, so you can find anything andit may cost you .50 but to the person receiving it, a prize. No limit or price tag on this swap. If you get something ridiculous then let them know. This is a treasure hunt. Also it would be nice to check their profile as you look for something but it is not necessary to do that. Send something neat tho.

I love retro kitchen items, check out my etsy faves if you need ideas. Vintage sheets that can be used as fabric... magenta/ yellow and green/orange are my current favorite color combos. Stationary sets (or random pieces) from the 80's or earlier. If you're absolutely stumped, you can always send "bingo prizes" for the nursing home where I work (see my profile for details on this).

I found some darling little marionettes last I was junkin'. They clearly had no idea what they had since they priced the 3 of them so low. However they seem to think sheets with a big yellow spot on them were worth a lot. GROSS!!!

I like anything Snoopy. I have found several things at the thrift store with Snoopy. But anything cows, even picture books with cows are animals are welcome.

I collect old bottles, Fenton (found a Fenton leaf plate once at Salvation Army for $1.00!) Vintage tea cups and saucers, especially with roses, anything vintage- roses, fabrics, lace, pillowcases, baskets. But I will love whatever you send! Blessings!

I like all kinds od stuff - you can look at my profile. Last time I joined this I found a whole bowl of teak dominoes for $12. and I sent some to my partner and kept the rest for me! I like linens and fabric, purses - anything.

I like anything vintagey, beaded evening bags or 50's 60's purses, cats, older unusual jewelry, unusual interesting items (that leaves it wide open ;o) asian themed items, salt and pepper shakers, scarves...anything!

Here it is just a couple of days after receiving your partner and already three or four of you have sent. Great gals! Going to thriftstore today!!!

I sent early because I just happened to find something that fit one of my partner's likes. After I picked the item up, a woman at the thrift store kept telling how much she'd love to have it. Got a little awkward because I wasn't about to give it up!

I am slightly concerned about my partner. I know that there is one more day before the send-by date, but my partner hasn't been online in almost a week, and she has only been rated for one swap. Total. I really REALLY hope she comes back and doesn't flake! :(
