Description:

This swap is for one 32 ct/small size matchbox decorated and filled with goodies. Please make sure to send something nice, something that you yourself would like to receive.

( MUST HAVE 5 SWAPS WITH 4.9 RATING TO JOIN )

POLKA-DOTS,,,yea. Fill the matchbox FULL with buttons, stickers, brads, paper, anything that will fit and has polka-dots too. The color choices are never ending but maybe check the profile of your partner and see what they like.

Decorate the outside with dots or without but if left plain maybe add a small item with dots.

International is fun and since the swap is small it will not cost a lot to send.

Be sure to package the matchbox well, it is not fun to get a flat box if you know what I mean. Using bubble wrap then place inside a bubble wrap envelope really helps to protect it.

                               PLEASE READ

Everyone that signs up must have at least 5 SWAPS with good RATING of 4.9, this is for everyone to just have fun. Please take care to complete the project which includes getting the swap sent.

Hi, This is my first time hosting a swap so if I have left anything out or you have a question, comment and such please feel free to let me know. Enjoy:)

Back when I made miniatures, I learned that wrapping small items, such as match boxes, in tissue paper, bubble wrap, paper towels, etc., placing them in empty pill bottles, and then in a padded envelope or small box is a great way to mail them. Just make sure to remove the medicine label which has personal info on it. HTH someone.

molliebrown54 04/13/2010 #

Sounds like a great way to protect those fragile small items :)

Maglet 04/14/2010 #

Seems I like polka dots since my daughter's nursery has quite a few items with polka dots. Who knew. This will be fun trying to find polka dot items to fill the box.

molliebrown54 04/14/2010 #

Oh, yes..I agree. It is fun looking. I am searching as we speak :)

carolynsn 04/15/2010 #

So do we or don't we have to decorate the box? Getting an undecorated matchbox would be kind of...well...disappointing if I spend time decorating the box I send out :(

molliebrown54 04/15/2010 #

Hi, Just to clarify..the outside of the box should be pretty as well but dots are not necessary.....although I think polka dots would be so cute on the outside also :) Senders choice to use dots on the outside but for sure something cute.

Hmm, I am signed up for this swap. I LOVE to decorate matchboxes but after looking through some of those participating (yes, all 4 people, 3 not including myself) everyone involved is just too picky. There are only SO many things you can place inside a matchbox. If you say, "I do not want any papers, scraps, stickers, anything small. No brads, no buttons, no ribbons, nothing that is colorful, no polka dots, no pinks, no yellows, no sparkles, no this, no that-Then maybe you shouldn't sign up for things like this. Really.

Molliebrown, could you help me out and maybe give me some hints of what will fit into a matchbox that does not include anything in paper crafts, scrapbooking, stickers, anything small, cute, tiny, fragile, or polka dots?! If I am assigned to a partner who does not want any of those things I just don't know what to put in it! And the deadline to leave the swap is fast approaching.

So I signed up after making my silver/black/gray/white matchbox. Filled it with lots of "round things". @xlucky016 maybe don't read what folks like and dislike...just go for it and enjoy the process! People should appreciate what they receive even if it maybe isn't their taste? But not "distasteful"? Personally, my matchbox is not "cute" but I think it's more "artsy" and I had a blast making it and filling it. Whoever gets mine may think it sucks...I don't know. I spent about 1.5 hours on it and I like it. Sometimes I think those likes and dislikes lists people have should be a suggestion....

molliebrown54 04/17/2010 #

Yes Carolynsn, I agree with you...I have checked the profiles out of the others and I think everyone of the participants would love to get anything creative, polka dottie, tiny etc. in their matchboxes. Just go with it and enjoy, please don't stress, that's not what we want you to do. Free form art is really what is all about and having fun. I hope this helps. :)

xlucky016 04/17/2010 #

Thank you guys! I hope whoever gets mine likes it. I would hate to get a bad rating because someone doesn't like the color I chose or because they don't like small items. I've spent a lot of time on my matchbox and I enjoy making them. I guess I'll just take their dislikes as a suggestion and just go with it. Thanks again.

molliebrown54 04/17/2010 #

Sure enough..that is just fine. Having fun is a plus. I am sure who ever the lucky person is will be very glad to have received your matchbox :)

Hello! I just signed up in hope you don't kick me out :) The reason is I am mad about making matchboxes, but I am so new here. I have already sent out for "White", "Green"and one private matchbox swap. I guess nobody received them yet, cos I send international, that will take about 2 week... But anyway, hope to join this swap too, cos I DON'T FLAKE! ^_^

molliebrown54 04/18/2010 #

Sounds good..I hope you enjoy :)

Lamira 04/19/2010 #

Hello there I am new also I have senst out a ton of things but alas most were international to. A couple of the ones I sent to the US have rated me and with hearts.

I absolutely love these little things and I am doind them as a craft with my 6 and8 year olds too. They seems to have a larger immagination than I do when it comes to decorating them. If there is anyone out there interested in a private swap with us, please send me a message and I can give you a list of the ones we have made and oh boy there is a long list.

Well smiles for now and my little box is ready to be stuffed. Oh my daughter Emma has also made a polka dot box so if anyone wants to make a second and trade with her that would be great.

molliebrown54 04/19/2010 #

Welcome Lamira, Glad to have you here. Sounds like you are prepared to get started. I agree with you, children have the best imagination don't they, should be fun. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. Take care :)

Maglet 04/19/2010 #

oops, I just realized you require 5 swaps. Let me know if you're going to ban me before I get started on my box.

molliebrown54 04/19/2010 #

Yes, must have 5 completed swaps.....sorry, so anyone who does not will be banned.

molliebrown54 04/19/2010 #

That is 5 completed swaps with 4.9 rating or better :)

molliebrown54 04/24/2010 #

Thanks everyone for participating. Hope you all had fun, I know I did. Blessings :)
