I'm sorry if this question is stupid...I just want to clarify before I join...I'm an amatuer photographer...taking classes, but nonetheless still learning...so we just don't want a photo of your kids or something, right?

No, not stupid at all. And right, no snapshots of your kids or whatever. Each photogrraph should be a piece of art. Something that's suitable for framing and hanging.

I would like to join, but i have a question before i do so. "Art" photography will be different for everybody, i suppose. I do take lots of pictures and try to make nice compositions, colours, etc. I've take a look at your Flickr photos to get an idea. Are these the kind you're looking for in this swap (i don't mean the snapshots, but the others) ? And what is the definition for a snapshot ? A really beautiful picture of people or pets can also be an artsy photo ?

Moose, definitely a picture of people or animals can be considered art. By snapshot I kind of just meant a quick picture taken with no consideration towards compositions, color,etc. like you said. As long as the picture is taken with consideration to these things, keeping in mind that the point of the swap is to provide your partner with a piece of art to hang on their wall, you will be fine! :)

i'm waiting to order prints. and if it's ok, i'll ask my partners what sort of photo print they'd like. i would want to send them something that they'd actually hand on their wall, not something that doesn't fit their style.
