Description:

This swap is based on the craft kits that are regularly published in Somerset Life. This swap is based on "Boxed Treasures" by Christen Olivarez in the Autumn 2008 issue of Somerset Life. Here is the challenge:

Presentation is all part of this swap!!

This is going to be a "mini" kit. This will keep the expense and shipping down, and up the Challenge factor! Your kit will need to be:

Not much bigger than an altoid tin, but CANNOT be a matchbox.(Size is a rough estimate.) Do your best to find an unusual tin or container. Little compartments inside are good too! You will need to alter the container into a lovely little box for the treasures and goodies!! Think VINTAGE :-)

Ideas? How about:

  • Vintage pearls
  • Pretty glass beads
  • A small piece of beautiful lace
  • Rick rack wrapped around a pretty tag
  • A bit of vintage jewelry
  • Vintage images or paper
  • Bits of gorgeous broken china for Jewelry
  • A tiny container of glitter
  • Little gems
  • A few vintage buttons
  • Some pretty straight pins
  • Pre-made tags to embellish These are just a few ideas!

However these things are NOT to be used:

  • Plain grommets and fasteners
  • Ordinary brads
  • Those sparkly foil things you put in envelopes.
  • Nothing YOU wouldn't love to have in your kit!!!

I am giving extra time, so we can all find something special!

One partner, one kit. This is SENDERS choice, but please take into consideration your partners dislikes. If they hate purple, for example please use a different color.

If you can, please post a pic in our forum of either your sent or received tag. I hope we can inspire each other!

Could we have measurements please as we don't have Altoid tins in Australia.

My apologies to our International Swappers! I would say roughly no larger than 3.0 x 5.0 inches or 7,6 x 12.7 centimeters. I hope that helps!

Do we need to create compartments like the one in the picture?
