HI!

I love postcards & your must to, to be reading this! Well, this is a small swap.. to run for a whole month..! Let's make this the number one swap! I'd feel honored. :D

You'll have 2 partners to send one "naked" postcard to. Naked means w/o an envelope.. you'll write on your postcard & put a lovely stamp on it, & happily send it to your partner! Newbies will be welcome, just have a filled out profile, & not just two or three words. I do check profiles.

As for what to pick to send your partner.. send something that shows how beautiful your country (or state) is. Like the mountains, ocean, lake, historical places that you love.. just send something you'd like to receive! Store-bought cards for this one, only. I know some of us love seeing your photography, but alot just collect store-bought cards. So, just trying to be safe w/this!

Happy swapping, people!

Newbie here from Malaysia. Feel free to add if you love to receive beautiful postcards from me. Terima kasih (thank you)

Just checking: there is just 6 days between signing up and sending? I didn't understand the reference to it running a whole month.

TAnn 02/ 1/2010 #

Perhaps that the swap was posted a month before the sign up date???

I have some nice "postage paid" postcards from Canada Post - in other words, the postage is already part of the pre-printed card, so I wouldn't be adding a stamp. Is that okay?

doublesided 02/ 3/2010 #

I have some excellent postcards, but its almost impossible to get fancy stamps... is this ok?

julmc81 02/ 4/2010 #

doublesided? where do you live that you cant find beautiful stamps? Im just curious :)

doublesided 02/ 4/2010 #

Im in Scotland, UK!

Unlike regular, 1st class postage stamps, there usually are a limited number of styles of stamps specifically for post cards. This at least is so in the USA. I don't know about other countries. A person could use a regular stamp, but then they would be spending more on postage than they would need to, especially if mailing internationally. Just a thought.

miahalf 02/ 5/2010 #

@CraftyTweetie - the USA has special postage stamps for postcards? Do you pay a different rate for postcards or something? That's interesting... in Canada we pay the same for a postcard as for a letter :)

ElaCaiu 02/ 6/2010 #

@miahalf We pay 28 cents for a postcard being sent within the country, 98 cents for an international postcard or letter, and 44 cents for a letter within the country.

The only 28 cent stamp I've been able to find here is the polarbear.

LindaB 02/ 7/2010 #

In holland we pay the same for a postcard as for a letter. In the country its 44 euro cents, in europe 77 cents and the rest of the world is 95 cents!

knitmom7 02/ 7/2010 #

We pay 79 cents to Canada or Mexico. I use a 17, a one, and a ten sometimes. I try to vary stamps. There's a couple of 3 centers out there.

kazaguruma 02/ 8/2010 #

here in Brazil we pay like 40cents per postcard. if you want to send by "priority" its the double of the price ;3 (this one for USA)

another countries can be more expensive letter isn't cheap. ;( only for local send that i can pay 1cent for letter (until 10g)

kazaguruma 02/ 8/2010 #

but i cant choose the stamps ;~the postofice lady put whatever she wants too D;

Bizabeth25 02/ 9/2010 #

anybody know why partners haven't been assigned????

ArizonianbutmissesMichigan 02/ 9/2010 #

The coordinator has not been on since the 6th. I think they have up to a week before partners are assigned. Correct me if I am wrong. I am giving it until the end of today, if nothing then I am dropping. Too many other PC swaps out there. :)

knitmom7 02/ 9/2010 #

I just hope she's not without power with this storm. DC area has 20+ inches with more on the way.

knitmom7 02/ 9/2010 #

I stand corrected. It's 75 cents to Canada and 79 to Mexico from US. Sorry about that!

tiggerski 02/ 9/2010 #

If she does not assign partners, does swap bot do it automatically? She is always late assigning partners, always takes her a couple of days.

Michaela0705 02/ 9/2010 #

I hope that partners will be assigned soon, the deadline to send is already coming closer.

Heckofarush 02/10/2010 #

no partners yet :(

linny4570 02/10/2010 #

I think it is very unfair on her part! We sign up in good faith and she keeps us hanging! She DOES NOT DERSERVE A STAR! I have better things to do than wait around! I am out of here,,,! :(

Bizabeth25 02/10/2010 #

I hope that she is ok, but I am also dropping. I wish you all the best.

kizmet 02/10/2010 #

I'm dropping as well =/ but if someone is interested in a private postcard swap PM me!!

knitmom7 02/10/2010 #
