Read all over? You got it, the newspaper.

So this swap involves you getting your local paper and sending it to people all over the world. You will have 2 partners, and you will include your newspaper of choice. Automatic heart rating if you send more than one so be fair when rating please!

This will give everyone an idea about where you live, what your home is like and the fun of seeing a newspaper from another part of the world!

Newbies are fine. And I believe since this is media, it qualifies for media rates.

What a great idea!

Sezouli - I thought it might be fun!

This is nice! I'm signing up :)

ollieotson 06/26/2007 #

and people wouldn't mind not understanding the words? cause im portuguese lol

huiyuehin 06/26/2007 #

ollieotson, can you possibly translate the news then? I suppose it would be great to see how non-english media see/descript things.

user8139 06/27/2007 #

I don't think so. I love foreign newspapers for their cool factor. It's neat to try and figure out what's going through the words you can pick out, and the pictures. I've got a newspaper from Tokyo that everyone has fun with.

hyperoma 06/28/2007 #

I wouldn't mind not being able to understand the news too. I think it's intriguing enough to be seeing interesting spellings/ characters. You don't get to read Portuguese everyday here in Singapore :)

Susan 06/28/2007 #

Do I have this correct? you send the whole newspaper

user8139 06/29/2007 #

Well, only part of a newspaper kind of defeats the idea :)

I'm from Brazil, and I'm in!!!

lucindalynn 07/26/2007 #

What a great swap! I love it! Newspapers reveal a lot about the local community that it is published in. Really looking forward to this one!!

Just a note this would qualify as media rate however if anything other then media is sent in the same package it disqualifies it as media. Also a media rate package is checked more often then other packages. The local post offices actually do daily checks and opens packages to see if they qualify for this rate. It has happened to me I sent a book and enclosed another non media item and the post office called me to pick up my package and pay additional postage, (we're in the phone book small city.) Now I'm not sure if media rate is allowed outside the U.S. I've always sent books global priority or air mail if under a certain weight. Hopes that helps

media is for US only but if sent in an envelope shouldn't weigh much at least i don't think it will although from the US certain countries the shipping rate is ridiculously outrageous. Unfortunately i can't sign up for this one due to the date of send by but I hope you have another one soon. I will definitely sign up for that one.

Great idea!!!!

I'll have another one after this one ends since people like it so much. International again. But maybe longer dates than normally done.

MeyRosly 08/ 1/2007 #

is this swap really goin' on or not?

TheLisaBeast 08/ 1/2007 #

I was wondering the same thing...

Here in Brazil, the postage of paper is DOC. Anything made of paper is doc. Can be book, can be newspaper, letters, higienic paper.. hehe...etc.

To avoid the post people to open your envelope, cut a little piece of one side to show then what is inside.

Suzanne 08/ 7/2007 #

Jules and lucindalynn are getting packages of newspaper love soon!

MeyRosly 08/ 8/2007 #

Just to let everyone know I sent my partners their respective newspapers as early as August 8... I just wasn't able to log in here and click on the SENT button (which I just did now). Lele-br and qnkrla, your newspapers must be halfway their journey now.
