hi all! this swap is for decorating a matchbox with any color or color combination as your theme and then filling the matchbox as full as you can get it with BEADS!!! the beads should match the color combination you've picked for the outside of the matchbox.

beads should be mostly 4mm-9mm, & filled in to the tiny spaces with seed beads or chips. glass, ceramic or gemstone ONLY. no plastic, acrylic or wood beads. this matchbox should be stuffed with beads that you would like to receive!!

after you've finished stuffing your matchbox, please put it in a small ziplock baggie so the contents will not fall out into your envelope.

you will have 2 PARTNERS for this swap, so you will be making 2 matchboxes and you will be getting 2 matchboxes in return!

colors & color combinations are SENDERS CHOICE, but you can check your partner's profile if you wish; profile based is always special! :)

more details:

  • usa only, 2 partners
  • 4.9+ rating only, no 1s ever, no 3s in the last 6 months without explanation, PM me with your explanation or i'll ban automatically.
  • newbies only with very well filled out profile
  • i will be checking profiles & ratings carefully & i will ban anyone who looks suspicious on the day before swap deadline
  • i will angel if necessary; if i have to angel for a swap that you flaked on i'll ban you from any of my future swaps.

Are these matchboxes 32 ct or 250 ct? A 12mm bead (unless it's a flat one) won't fit in a 32ct box which is only about 9mm deep.

Dumb question, but I've never messed with matchboxes and I see tons of stuff on here that uses them. Do you buy tons of matches or is there a "secret" way of acquiring them? Like, do craft stores sell empty ones? Thanks for the help!

From what I've gathered, people both use pre-made matchboxes and creat their own. There is a really cute template at http://blog.swap-bot.com/rachels-matchbox-template/ I would like to try out.
