Description:

Thank you to "bettflow09" for the idea.

You will put together a kit for an animal amigurumi for your partner to make. Please no bugs or insects, (we may do a swap for them at a later date if this goes well.)

You will include instructions( please make sure they are complete and legible) and all materials to make at least a 4 inch animal. Yarn, eyes, embroidery floss, ribbon, buttons, ect. You DO NOT need to send stuffing, hook, needles or pins. Package all items together in a large zipper bag, to make a complete kit. You may also want to put smaller items in a seperate small bag, inside the large bag. We wouldn't want any pieces to get lost. Also since everyone crochets a little differently, please make sure you include enough materials to complete the project. We wouldn't want anyone to not be able to finish their project.

This is sender choice for the animal, but please check your partners profile for likes and dislikes, you probably wouldn't want to send a kit to make a cat if your partner doesn't like cats.

This is open to all members of the group in good standing.

This is international so be aware that you may have to send overseas.

ENJOY!

I forgot to mention that since these will sent out during the holiday rush please allow extra time for receiving, before rating you partners, also if for some reason someone does not get their kit I will angel this swap.

I would love to do this, but I've just started crocheting and haven't made an amigurumi yet, so I wouldn't be confident that I'd be able to send a kit with the right (and enough) materials. If you host another one of these later when I've had a bit more experience, I would definitely join!

"straycat911" all of the patterns I have used and have seen have a list of supplies needed for the project. If you go by the list you should be able to put a kit together with out to much trouble. The only thing is I might add a little extra yarn just to make sure you have enough. I hope this helps and you consider joining, if not, if this swap goes well I will consider doing another one.

@straycat911 like craftycrocheter said you can go by the list of supplies. I just had a quick suggestion to add. If you chose an ami pattern you usually can't go wrong if you pick up a ball of lily in each color you need. for instance, I like this one pattern by lionbrand for a turtle, and it has 3 colors in it, so i bought a ball of yellow, green, and brown, and 2 buttons or safety eyes. that way i'm sure i have enough for at least one, and really you can get 2 or 3 out of that much yarn. I hope this helps clear things up too. I started with the ami's, once you get going you can't stop ;-)

I'm tapped out for now with swaps... maybe if the send by date was after the holidays... just don't have time to get them all done!

I am also pretty full & would rather do it a little later.

thanks for the date change - joined now....

another suggestion --- please make sure you understand your partners craft of choice. For Example, I would not want to receive a knit one, as I do not knit yet. If someone mostly knits, maybe they would not want a crochet one.

I agree with what @PurpleTX has said, but this a group for those of us who crochet amigurumis and cute things, so I would say that the patterns should be for crochet. I do know that some of you knit as well, and if you would prefer a knit pattern please list that here, other wise you will most likely receive a crochet pattern.
