Matchbox Bed & Doll - Nov '09

this is so cute....sorry I can't join because I'll be traveling then....but y'all have fun!

Yeah I'm going to be playing around with how I want to go about making the doll, myself. =P I'm glad you guys enjoy the idea!! I can't wait!! =D

Edited the requirements for participating. Please have at least 3 swaps completed with at least 2 of them being actual package swaps (non-postcard, internet or letter swaps).

Does the doll have to be Human?

Nope. You can see what your partner's interests are and make a doll accordingly. Like... say your partner likes mushrooms. Make a little mushroom doll. Or like... fairies... make a fairy doll.

Yeah that's part of the swap is to make the little doll or creature or whatever cute little thing to be sleeping in the bed for your partner when they get it. =) It doesn't have to be a super detailed amazing kind of doll or anything. Like the little doll in the picture just looks like a sewn up round piece of material stuffed with wire and cloth for the body and dress. I'm going to be playing around with ideas for the doll I want to make. If anything, I'll post up some results I've been coming up for simple little doll ideas that will fit in the matchbox.

EDIT Posted above. Please post here in the comments section and/or write your partner when they are assigned to you to let them know what kind of doll you might like. Such as, would you like a human doll or an animal? If you have no preference, leave it for your partner to decide. =)

EDIT again. I will be checking in on this swap periodically for any questions, etc. But I will be checking in on the last day of swapping for everyone that is participating to see if they are still active on the site. On the last day to swap, please post a comment on here saying that you are present so that I know you are ready for your partner. This is just to try to help prevent any possible flakers. I'm sure you've all been flaked on at least once. It's never fun.... Thanks everyone!

Yeah. A wooden doll is fine as long as it will fit inside the matchbox. =) That's pretty much the only requirements for the doll. =)

You aren't a pain. =P The more clarification, the better. Yeah. If you write your partner and post a comment here, you can suggest what kind of you might like. If you aren't all that picky or really just want it to be up to your partner, say something like "I'd want an animal rather than a human-like doll" or whatever. Then, you'd be leaving it up to your partner to decide what you might like from that. Reilo suggested above that she'd like a hedgehog. If a person can do that, great. But if that sounds too complicated, she also put that a teddy would be fine. That's easier. So put a kind of range of what you might like for the doll so that your partner will still have some options. =)

I just edited the requirements a little just to remind everyone to not be super specific on their requests for the doll. After all, that's what makes these swaps so special is when your partner can make something they think you would really like from their own heart. =)

There is also the option to not request, and leave it completely up their partner. I know I like to be suprised. =)

Haha. Just write your partner and let them know that if you really really don't want any pink. Ideally, your partner should be getting ideas from your profile for what to make for you to begin with, so if your profile says you don't like pink, they better not put pink. =P

You can write your partner when you get assigned. You know who is sending to you by going in to the rating thing, but you won't be rating your partner until you get your item, of course. =P
