Description:

Before anyone gets upset, I have a good reason for making this swap for people outside of the U.S. only. Autumn Moon is currently running this swap for U.S. participants and I do not want to steal any of her people. With this commitment on my part, she kindly agreed to let me duplicate her swap. Thanks Autumn Moon!

You will have 2 partners and will make one envelope for each partner, for a total of 2 envelopes.

The envelopes should be no smaller than standard size, about 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" (about 16cm x 9 cm).

Here is what you do:

1) Open up a paper envelope along the glue lines, without cutting or tearing, or use a template like the one here:

http://www.creativedelights.com/downloads/?dlid=1015&file=4+x+5.5+envelope.pdf

for your pattern.

2)You will need to cut two pieces of fabric that are larger than your template, plus one piece of double-sided fusible interfacing, also larger than your pattern. Make a sandwich of your fabric, interfacing, and second piece of fabric, with right sides out, and interfacing in center, and fuse according to instructions.

3) Let the fabric sandwich cool, and then mark out your pattern, and cut it out of the fabric sandwich. Mark your fold lines in water soluble ink if you like. Then, fold up your envelope and either use permanent fabric glue, or tiny stitches to secure flaps of envelope to make the pouch, leaving top flap free. Fold the top flap down, and press shut so that you have a heavy fold line where the flap closes. If you are a good buttonhole maker, make a button hole in the top flap, and sew on a button for closure, or use a snap, velcro, or any other type closure you desire to hold the flap closed.

4) Go crazy and embellish! This envelope will now be a great place to hold special things.

This swap is for swappers (1) residing outside the U.S., (2) with fully completed profiles (not just a few words), (3) ratings of 4.5 or higher, (4) and no no sends in the last 6 months. If you have any recent no sends but a good explanation, please pm me to discuss.

I will ban anyone not meeting the above criteria, but not until after the swap sign by date. However, if you feel anyone is dodgy for any reason, please feel free to pm me about it.

Have fun and do let me know if you have any questions!

Yes, I fully agreed to this, so that non-usa folks who are interested can participate too. I think it is very nice of Terry to host this swap. AM

hoppyloo, loved your envelope - and the interesting way you made the closure for it! Thanks for all of the extras too! Terry
