Make a postcard out of a food box. Whatever your favorite processed food, it may have come in a thin cardboard box; Cracker Jacks, popcorn, cereal, you get the idea.

Make 1 postcard for 3 partners=3 postcards total. All welcome, have fun and be creative. Write about when you ate it, why you like it, was it a snack for your kid, etc.

Start saving those boxes because you'll only have a week to mail them out once partners are assigned.

*Postcards should measure 4 x 6" Mail naked (stamped and written on) if possible.

Oh, cool. I've been throwing food cartons in the recycling bin with sad aimlessness lately. This will be replaced by joy. I am easy to satisfy. (That's what she said.)

how on earth did i miss this round? LOVE this swap! i made really nice ones last round, and i was SO proud of them. can't wait to send more. :)

if anyone wants a fun way to use up thier scraps from this there are a few days left to join the upcycled bookmark project @TC has already uploaded photos to the Flickr pool for it and i am getting very excited! hers are totally different from mine and i can't wait to see everyone's style!

this sounds fun. one question - can we embellish a little with paper or other flat items? Or strictly the food item?

camelsamba 10/27/2009 #

AKmamaof2, I've done both - depends on how interesting the box is by itself, and how much it cries out for embellishments! (like my lucky charms one - http://www.flickr.com/photos/cazatoma/3924224583/ - that leprechaun was interesting by himself, but the look on his face was even more appropriate with the sinister critters surrounding him)

I've also received both kinds.

watching! :D

I thought naked meant no writing/stamp...I'm new so that could be why...please let me know if I'm mistaken so I don't mess this up if I decide to join. :) Thanks!!

stiffneck78 10/29/2009 #

Naked (according to this swap) means no envelope.

I just love these swaps! Thank you stiffneck78....you can count me in if you decide to host #6!! My husband keeps asking me...."Why are you keeping so many empty boxes??" HA!!

RainbowSplatter 11/ 2/2009 #

:( i do not want to drop this, but i had better just in case. i don't have the boxes i wanted for this round yet and i don't want to risk staying in on a week to make them. i like to alter them and it takes some time! i will be on the look-out for the next round, though! it's one of my favorite swaps!!
