Trash to Treasure Round Robin

So, with the last person receiving and not being able to get rid of what they don't want? Should they vow to donate the rest of the items to a local Goodwill or something similar?

Well the point of this swap is that you will get rid of what you don't want, and hopefully find stuff that you do - so the point isn't about getting rid of everything, but the point is to trade out stuff you won't ever use for stuff that you might, you know?

I'll be the last one to receive, as it will come back to me in the end - and I'm hoping that none of the stuff I send out will be in the box when it gets back to me... and what I might do, is if this is successful, is use anything I don't want in that box to start a new one of these...

But yeah. :)

I just found two more tubs and a whole nother drawer full of stuff... aaahg!! Bad Christmas gifts, swaps made for people 3x my age (I was swapping when I was 13... that was an interesting venture), swaps made for people who apparently thought I was 8, craft stuff, stuff I bought on impulse and have no idea why.... my my my.

I was wondering if it would be a not smart idea to make another swap called Trash to Treasure Round Robin #2 and have two boxes out at once - since there are already 8 people signed up and I know I asked more than that, plus I know more people who might be interested. Any advice on this or should I just do it? :P

It would have the same password if anyone wanted to join both (probably someone like me, who has a lot of stuff O.O)

Hey everyone...as you know I have not sent the package yet...my computer is getting a little jumpy and when I clicked on view swap I hit the sent button instead...sorry about that...it's the second time that has happened to me. Quite embarrassing!!!

Urban Exotic had it and took out one thing, a box with coloured swirls and designs on it, and she told us that she sent to Julia, but she forgot to, and sent me a message saying that it would be going out in a few days from the time she sent the message. It should be on its way by now, if it's not there already. I asked her to post the tracking number, but I think she's not on the computer very much and hasn't done so yet.

Urban Exotic updated her "website" (see her profile for the link)on July 10th. So...if she can go there and update she can come here and communicate. I'm really disappointed by the fact that there is no communication from her. Things happen in life and we are an understanding bunch here...but ya HAVE TO COMMUNICATE with us...if you are able...and she was.

I know this is trash to treasure but I am really hoping you find some "treasures" in the box (biting nails).

Super great box. I went through it last night. I took out some definite treasures, the coffee and shampoo were great! I put some "trash" in the box so hopefully others will think they are getting treasures. The box went out today and the postal clerk's comment was that I sure got value for my postage. Well, I've received several PMs asking about the box, so against my better judgment, here is my response:

I received the box and didn't take anything out because most of it was garbage. A lot of it was broken, some of it was stuff no one would ever want. A book that was so water damaged it was warped and smelly. Broken bits of who knows what. A shell box that got broken. And other stuff that I don't want to list in case it hurts someone's feelings. So please excuse me if I don't want to send a box of crap on to the next person.

I'm taking some time to put together a box full of nice stuff. It would be nice if you guys were a little patient while I do that. Thank you.

UPDATE

It's later in the evening, and the package is now ready to go on Tuesday.

I took out anything that was crappy (broken, old and wrinkled, water logged, etc.), and threw it away. I replaced those items with new items that I had around the house; stuff I planned to regift. I think some items are really good, but of course that's subjective! I guess that's why it's called Trash To Treasure!

Now that we know what is going on .... we have lots of patience for your kindness (my last comment was BEFORE you and I pm'd). Thank you for putting in some "Treasures". We all appreciate it and will follow suit.

So sorry! There was an emergency that took me out of town. I just got back tonight. Hunky was SUPPOSED to mail the package while I was gone, but it's still in the same place it was when I left, so I am bringing it to the post office tomorrow (I believe I can use the kiosk for it).

Hi Jesse....this arrived 6 days ago....did you send it with the socks round robin? We are almost done with these!! Yippee!!

It may have arrived days ago, but I was in Kansas City and it showed up here at my dorm. I have it now, and it's full of amazing stuff. Woo! Although someone cheated and put stuff from the other box into this one because I got some of my stuff back hahaha... :) I found several tings I liked... some soap, a green notebook, a bunch of inspirational cards, a very pretty photo frame, a fake nail kit, a winnie the pooh magnet, a funky bookmark that is either a flower or a cat I can't tell, a bag of awesome crazy-looking clip-on earrings, and some pretty handkerchiefs.

It's going to be on its way to VJP as soon as I find a post office. There's apparently one inside the grocery store near my school so as soon as I get a chance, I'm heading over there

Even though I jumped in and helped with this swap by sending a new box when it got stalled...I still have not received from the host ... who has had this box for over 5 week. I have learned my lesson about round robins. I was in 3 this summer and they were all very disappointing...
