Description:

I guess we're all tired of reading about bad news on the newspapers - murders, violence, wars... - so what about sending to your swap partner a journal full of GOOD and HAPPY news taken from your local/national newspapers?

That's what you have to do: you'll collect as much newspapers' cuttings as you can and stick them into a journal/notebook, then send it to your swap partner. It's quite cheap because you only have to buy a journal, but you can also make it on your own. If you read non-English newspapers, you can translate only the article's title or the whole article if it's short. The articles MUST talk about GOOD, HAPPY, NICE, or FUNNY things.

The swap's limit date will be on January, so you'll start the new year with a collection of happy news.

Newbies are welcome with a filled out profile, for other people, no 1s or 3s in the latest three months.

[EDIT] You can also take articles from mags and from the net.

as I quote an Anne Murray lyric ...'sure could use, a little good news, today..' Kudos for promoting the positive! Could we print out good news articles from the web? or magazines? or should it be just newspapers? I rarely find any in my local newspaper so wanted to know if other options were available to include for the swap.

SkippyMom 09/ 2/2009 #

How many articles? Can you place a minimum at least? Thanks

Virou 09/ 3/2009 #

@17Papergoddess yes, you can take them from mags and even from the web. I've just noticed today it's so difficult to find good news in local newspapers °_°

@SkippyMom you should fill a little journal, an article for each page, so at least 15 articles.

What type of journal? Homemade or store bought? The one's I find at the store are at least 25 - 30 pages which is fine with me. I just want to make sure I do this right.

Virou 09/ 8/2009 #

You can choose if you want to use a store bought one or a handmade one.

How many articles/pages should we plan on?

Virou 10/21/2009 #

At least 15 articles

Hi everyone, I missed the swap but thought you might all like Gives Me Hope and Operation Beautiful . These are two of the best sites I have found to lift my spirits.

It took a lot for me, translating the titles, searching for English versions of the news and so on. I only found a piece of good news on the only English-written newspaper here, LOL. But now it's finally on its way!

I sent my journal out today, too! It was more difficult than I though to gather a large selection of god articles. I hope my partner enjoys what I sent.

wolviechick121 01/23/2010 #

Putting on finishing touches. I'll be sending mine out tomorrow afternoon. =)
