Description:

I've really gotten into making felt tree ornaments and thought it might be fun to swap some of them. This will be the first in a small series.

This is a very simple swap:

Make 1 bird ornament out of felt or fabric for 1 partner and send.

Make the bird at least 3 inches long, but no longer than 7 inches. Feel free to decorate the bird with glitter, beads, embroidery, paints, etc... Please make some sort of hanger/clip for attaching the ornament to the tree. Please make something YOU'D like to receive. Try to keep things holiday themed with colors, however, try to avoid religious iconography.

There are several tutorials online such as: http://sunshinescreations.vintagethreads.com/2006/11/how-to-make-embroidered-felt-ornament.html

http://www.purlbee.com/sewn-bird-ornaments/

These aren't the only patterns, just two of what I consider the simpler ones. Feel free to find or make your own pattern.

I'm willing to angel if need be.

The rules: 1) Must have a rating of at least 4.8 with at least 5 mail swaps. 2) Newbies welcome with filled out profile, however, PM me. 3) No ones or threes allowed in the last 6 months on mailed swaps.

These are simple ornaments and should be light to mail, however, at this time I'm going to keep it US/CANADA only. If someone wants to coordinate an International swap, just let me know.

Just to illustrate how simple this is, I've hand sewn four of these today while waiting for a bus with an infant sitting next to me. I just need to stuff and decorate them. : )

Does a penguin count as a bird?
