Old Tymey Folk CD Swap

Do you have any old time folk music in your collection? Maybe some rags or cakewalks. Maybe some off color ethnic comedy recorded on wax cylinder. Maybe a family singing about their hillbilly lifestyle or some cowboy campfire tunes. Good down home fiddlin' music about Jesus and commercials for cure-all potions? Well then join up here!

If you don't already have a lot of this kind of music, a lot of it is free/out of copyright. Many songs are dnldable at http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/. The Library of Congress also puts out a lot of collections of this sort.

In terms of time period, most of it would be pre-1940s, but a song of this genre could be recorded somewhere in Appalachia today and still be valid. Use your best judgment. It's supposed to be fun, so I am not putting a lot of rules on this. I'd love to see how many people are interested in traditional music!
