Description:

So, I'll admit, I get kinda excited when back to school rolls around. School supplies have gotten a lot more fun and thematic over the past few years and its been a long time since I've had to drag my mom school supply shopping, begging her for the awesome box of 64 crayons, "Mom! it comes with a sharpener BUILT IN!"

Sooo...

For those of you who have tweenish kids, are in school still yourself, or have a healthy appreciation for school supplies (and see the fun in them), I pose you this challenge: to make a package for your partner of the items listed on the 'school shopping list.'

the break down:

  • 1 partner.

    • Min $5- $10 Max spending limit (before shipping)

    • Rating: Nothing below a 4.8 (if kids are involved, I don't want any sad kiddies)

    • Newbie-ish allowance: Must have 5 MAIL swaps completed.

    • I will be checking profiles and will ban as I see fit.

    • Keeping it US because of postage costs.

    The Shopping list:

      (package MUST contain items listed)

    • ONE composition book ( 9.75 x 7.5 inches) or spiral bound notebook (10.5 x8 inches)

    • ONE two pocket folder

    • 3-5 pens or pencils (mix match if you want, be creative here)

    • ONE back to school surprise of the senders choice!

For you Math buffs, thats 6-8 items in the package (depending on how many pens or pencils you put in :)

Suggestions

*Have fun with this, READ your partners profile and take ideas.

  • Make it a theme

    • does your partner really like blue? or stripes?
    • are they really into bugs? puppies? Hannah Montana?
  • For the Surprise make it something fun: pencil pouch or box, box of crayons or fun markers, small snack container. Don't make it a repeat item from the shopping list, variety is key.

    Notes

Keep the golden rule of swapping in mind: Send a package that you would like to receive yourself.

  • Measurements listed above are the standard size, dont send anything smaller (like a pocket sized notebook) for this item

  • Don't take 'Shopping' so literally, but DON't send junk. If you have some unused pencils (erasers still in tact) or a nice blank notebook and it goes with the theme of your package, and you think your partner will like it- go ahead.

  • If you are doing this swap for your kid, please let us know below.

Any questions? feel free to ask. This is my first shot as coordinator and I want to make this a good swap.

Watching this also! I would love Sanrio school supplies.

I really want to do this and have already looked at the school supplies. I'm thinking it might be helpful to list here whether you have a boy or girl and whether you need a wide or college ruled notebook. I'd hate to send you something you can't use.

As for me, I would prefer college ruled paper and since I'm going to do the swap for myself, I guess I would prefer girl, though I'm 26 yo and not a not a very girly girl, so just about anything will do.

Just a suggestion.

Ah yes BrennenB my friends even mentioned to me that I overlooked the wide ruled/ college ruled detail Xp That is totally something you can pm your partner about just to make sure you get something you can use.

The rest of the assembly is partner inspired and a filled out profile should help 'em out :)
