BOO y'all! ok ok it is a little early, but have you been into Michaels craft store lately? They have their Halloween stuff out!! So this got me thinking.... This swap you will make 4 inchies for 2 partners for a total of 8 WHIMISCAL HALLOWEEN inchies. oh these wonderful 1x1 inchies are so much fun to collect and make and if you have not done one yet...oh just you wait! They must be on the Whimsy side and Halloween. You can paint, draw, sew your inchies how ever you like as long as it is whimsical in nature for Halloween. Be sure they are on cardstock or have a sturdy backing on them. These are not to be made on plain copy paper as this is to flimsy unless you put a backing on it. I thought this would be a fun swap for the beginner inchie maker or for the pro. New swappers are welcome with a filled out profile. All others must have 4.8 or higher ( not just email swaps) IF you have lower then 4.8 but have not had any bad ratings in the past month and want to join..contact me first..otherwise you will be banned from this swap. ANYONE...that does not follow through with this swap will be banned on my future swaps :( So please be a happy swapper!! Also, please have signed in to your swap-bot account at least a week before I assign partners. I get leery of letting people in who havenâ€™t been on-line for a while. I don't want you to forget and then get a bad rating. NO bad ratings here! (Hopefully) So lets all get out our markers, paint, colored pencils, scissors, glue, materials, altered art and Whimsy Halloween thinking caps on and make this a GRrrreat Inchie Swap!! One last thing...HAVE FUN with your creations!!!

Whimsical art is almost child like as it is pretty simple and very colorful vibrant art some what like folk art.

Do my inchies have to be drawn or printed? I thought I knew what you meant by whimsical, but I just saw another whimsical inchies swap and the coordinator made it seem as though they had to be drawn... I'm not a good drawer and I like for my inchies to be completly original so I don't like to "print and paste". I already have some made for this swap but I don't want to keep making them the way I do if its wrong. I get the whole "child like" and I think I capture that in my inchies, but I just want to be sure because I don't want a bad rating.

You can draw or print out as long as it is personalized some what... like add some glitter, ribbon or what not..I draw mine out for the most part unless I am doing something with vintage art. As long as it is colorful and "simple like" you should be find. If you sew, you can sew pumpkin or ghost inchies even. Pretty easy using felt...heehee Thanks for asking I am sure yours are fine. Whimsy is pretty easy really and great for someone that has never drawn as it does not have to be perfect ;)

can you please explain what an inchie is?

An inchie is a 1" x 1" piece of mini artwork created by you. The only requirements are the measurements and that it be sturdy. They can be painted, sewn, collaged or any combination of techniques. They should be creative. Cardstock with a sticker is NOT an inchie.

The medium for your inchie is up to you: sturdy cardstock, grunge board, fabric, chip board, polymer clay, watercolor paper or whatever strikes your fancy. Empty cereal boxes can be used as inchie blanks. Hope this helps those that are new :-)

If anyone is interested I have another Halloween inchie swap ending in Sept. So plenty of time to create more if you like.. It is to make any type of Halloween inchies..where as this one is to make whimsical Halloween inchie :) These are great to add to other crafts. Have fun!
