Description:

I am sick, sick, sick of my craft MESS! I have made a concerted effort to organize and go through EVERYTHING! As a result I have a flat rate USPS box FULL of useful extras that I won't use....So let's swap.

STUFF the box with as much stuff as you can; so much stuff that you have to tape it shut to keep it from exploding!!!

Because there is no way I can angel this, only experienced swappers with a 4.8 or higher and at least 10 mailed swaps. Make sure to check your partner's profile; not to send them specific stuff but to keep from sending them something offensive to them.

OMG, this is HILARIOUS...but wait a minute...aren't you just trading YOUR mess for someone ELSE'S mess? Not a big accomplishment, to my way of thinking, since you will end up with just as much "stuff" as you started with...maybe more, depending upon how proficient a "box-stuffer" your partner is...!

TeaNi 07/15/2009 #

haha, but at least it's different stuff;) One note, at my PO, they don't allow the flat rate boxes to be "altered" (I think it's on the fine print on the side of the box) and if it's bulging and taped shut to secure it, they consider that "altered". I had an issue once where I had to repack a flat rate box to get it through, so just thought I'd comment fyi.

dreammer 07/15/2009 #

What size Flat rate box? Also the only ones you are allowed to tape is the ones that don't have the sticky stuff already on them. If they do the postoffice will not let you mail them like that. I had the same thing happen to me as Teani did. I had to take everything out and show them that it fit without taping.

browniemommie2005 07/15/2009 #

Sounds interesting and who can't use more craft stuff LOL ... ... @TeaNi & @dreammer ~ REALLY????? I have never had that problem and I ALWAYS tape my boxes even the ones with the sticky stuff because I do not trust it, especailly when half of it is missing

ArtsOnFire 07/15/2009 #

I'm with browniemommie, I always tape my boxes just to make sure they don't pop open......if you can't tape yours, it's okay!! ;-)

And yes you will be trading your stuff for someone else's stuff, but at least it's other stuff to look at....!!!!!!!!!!! ;-P

My box is 12.5" x 15.5" by 3". It's a Priority Box.

Thanks for joining or watching and thanks for the comments, it's nice to know that others are sick of looking at the same crap over and over and over again!

melissableuz 07/16/2009 #

is the box the 5$ box size?

grannylove60 07/18/2009 #

I'm sure she's talking about the mid-size box which is I think $10.95??? I'm not sure about this one. In my watch for now, but gosh, I want to get rid of stuff that I will never use, but if my partner has stuff like that, I may not need her "stuff" either, lol. Gotta think about this one:)

swappintoya 07/19/2009 #

I love other peoples stuff.....lol But I'm not sure I have enough to fill a box like the size you need to use here....lol Sounds like a really fun swap though :)

ArtsOnFire 07/19/2009 #

I'm not 100% sure about the cost of my box. I will check and get back with you guys...which is preferred? The $5.00 or the $10.00 size???

AncientPlanter 07/21/2009 #

You won't be getting rid of all that much with the $5 size box. It's about the size of a VHS tape. I've got way too much that I want to get rid of, but don't really want anymore back in return! To join or not to join -- I have to think on this one.

eyeskater 07/21/2009 #

Eeeps...I didn't know about the tape. I sent a recycled one out and taped across the sticky area 'cause it was torn...I hope that's o.k.

ArtsOnFire 07/23/2009 #

OK thats settles it then...the $10.00 size flat rate box.
Eyeskater, I wouldn't worry about it, I've done the same and there's never been trouble. I would think they'd like that we were recycling.....

Thanks for all the feedback!!! and I hope AncientPlanter joins!

Hey SuperCrafty - it doesn't matter what it is as long as it's craft supplies - whatever you are sick of!!!

Eva - glad to have you aboard!

Does fabric count as craft supplies?? I'd like to include some in my package if it does...

I have the same problem, would love to join but not real sure I have enough stuff to fit in such a large box. I will have to think about this one.

melissableuz 08/ 1/2009 #

i would be happy if i can find a partner who can do the 5 dollar box. i really don't want to pay more to send a box. i will drop out and put on watchlist to make sure. thanks!

ArtsOnFire 08/ 1/2009 #

I think fabric counts, it's a craft supply!

I hope you two will re-think joining, we'd love to have you aboard.
