Here we go again, same as the last time...

Make a postcard out of a food box. Whatever your favorite processed food, it may have come in a thin cardboard box; Cracker Jacks, popcorn, cereal, you get the idea.

Make 1 postcard for 3 partners=3 postcards total. All welcome, have fun and be creative. Write about when you ate it, why you like it, was it a snack for your kid, etc.

Start saving those boxes because you'll only have a week to mail them out once partners are assigned.

*Postcards should measure 4 x 6"

preslarb 07/14/2009 #

I have never done this type of postcard before, but it sounds fun.

Could I ask please, it is usual to just make the postcard out of the box by simply cutting out the shape for mailing, or is it considered more acceptable to add to the basic card in some way, or cut up the box and use it in a postcard sized collage?

Sorry if this is obvious, but I am trying to get an idea of what other swappers expectations would be for the swap.

Thanks a lot

As a newbie, I too would like a little more info. Are they sent naked or in an envie? Is embellieshment okay? Thanks!!

stiffneck78 07/21/2009 #

Thank you for your great questions. I, personally, send mine naked, but it's really up to you. I cut out the main portion of the box but I've seen where people spice it up by putting embellishments. It's up to the sender, I just encourage creativity! =) I hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you have any more. Thanks...Stiff

Postcards Newbies: I've never done this kind of postcard either, but I do know from mailing hundreds of fabric art postcards that the post office doesn't like things on the postcards that stick up a lot, like big buttons. In other words, they like them as flat as possible. Some post offices are stricter than others.

Good advice SusanCleveland, thank you.

I don't have enough boxes just now, but I really hope you do this again, because it's a great swap!

Ready to send, can't wait!

I use my pens and embellish them to the max. Once my friends saw them they started going crazy and I put on a little workshop to get them going. Now they embellish when they get the chance and boy are they doing some great PC. On the box pc I find the more embellishments the better. LOL

I am thinking of joining. Does anybody have a link to photos to help me and others that haven't done this before? Thanks.

I LOVE this swap and how mine turned out!! I took a pic and will be adding it to my Picture Trail (which is listed in my profile). I've always loved saving the boxes and often re-use the whole box to send swaps or gifts in, so my PO already knows me as the lady that has the "most unique" (hope thats a good thing) packages!! lol
