Description:

Create two ATC's, one per partner, using the 'Frosted Filter' Technique

Use the filter for decorating the background of your ATC. The theme is senders choice.

As this is a group swap, I'm not stating anything about who can join and with what rating (just no unexplaned recent 'ones')

Please be aware that the 6th of August doesn't start at the same time all over the world: it can be the 6th in your part of the world and still be the 5th here in my part, or the other way around. I will assign partners as soon as I can :-)

Oh I am watching for sure, hope I can get supplies by August, I would love to try this one! Thanks!

I couldn't get the link to load. But searching on Google for "frosted filter technique" I was able to click on Cache and see the instructions. Also, there's a video set of instructions here -- note that I might get the mark up format wrong.

@mythomia the link in the swap works for me....weird :-)

Link worked for me just now - maybe the site was down temporarily when @mythomia tried?

Anyway, I like the look of this, but I don't have dye ink refills or an embossing heat tool. Maybe I should try it out with other kinds of coloring. The heat gun looks like it's just to speed up the drying process - anybody know for sure?

@camelsamba I think you are right about the heating tool. You can use food coloring stuff and I think you can use watercolor paint too if you do not water it down too much :-)

About the embossing heat tool - I often use my home oven set at 300 - 325 degrees instead of a heat tool. I place a piece of foil or parchment paper on a cookie sheet, then the object I am heating on top. It takes about one to two minutes. Once I put a piece of cardstock directly on the oven rack and ended up with rack marks on my embossed paper. I'm adding this swap my watch list!

Just love the effect of this. I was just wondering if any other paper can be used instead of a coffee filter?

I'm not sure if the swap specifically requires coffee filters. If not, I've done something similar to this with baby wipes and paper towels.
