This sounds like SO MUCH FUN!!! i'm excited for it! :) I like mine store bought, written on, and stamped please. On the card, write anything you would like about your trip, or who you are and where you are from! i love meeting new places and seeing new places! such an awesome swap! :)

RosieRoyalty 06/16/2009 #

I am excited for this swap. But I dont like how this one clearly states: Sender's Choice and yet everyone is declaring what they want to receive. I make my postcards, and therefore usually do not join swaps that are for store bought only. So when I join one thats open to creativity and then see poeple who want something SO specific, it ruins the fun.

Dogluvr 06/16/2009 #

I have to second that statement. I tend to avoid PC swaps because some people are so specific about this that and the other that it makes it just no fun. I also got burned by a vindictive -ahem- who decided what met the swap criteria (and was perfectly fine with my other 3 partners.. one being the swap coordinator) didn't meet her own BS criteria. If the swap is sender's choice but I'm going to get burned by someone on a rating because the PC doesn't meet what they want.. I'll drop and look for another swap.

I'm with RosieRoyalty and Dogluvr...this worries me as I'm afraid I'll miss what someone is requesting down here in the comments section and then get a bad rating because I sent as "sender's choice".

I love postcards. Someone told me to check this site out - but Im not 100% sure what to do. Do I just pick someone or are people assigned?

Stmpnmnga 06/19/2009 #

We need to have a homemade PC swap for those of us that enjoy that. Since I've never done that, I don't know how to proceed. But would try to participate along w/ Dogluvr & RosieRoyalty.

KarenFife 06/19/2009 #

Yep - I have to agree with RosieRoyalty and the rest. I usually forget to read these comments before I mail (There IS a swap called Postcard Swap - No Strings Attached#1) for a swap without any sender stress. I'm still debating on this one.

Pancua 06/19/2009 #

I was going to join this one but with people being so specific about what is supposed to be sender's choice, I think I will pass.

Good luck and have fun to the rest of you though!

Tinker60 06/20/2009 #

If the coordinator has said the swap is Sender's Choice and that the PC can be store bought or hand-made, that's what the swap is. . . people who want only store bought that are send in an envelope shouldn't sign up for sender's choice swaps!!! I have received store bought and hand-made, all of which have been great --- it's the seeing what you're getting and seeing what others have picked up that supposed to be the fun of it!!! For those that only want certain things, they need to do their own swap and be specific as to what they want OR join a swap that will get them what they want --- they need to STOP trying to take the fun out of these swaps!!!

I agree with Tinker60

I just wanted to say that for me, the reason I say I want storebought, stamped cards is because I've gotten SO many REALLY bad homemade cards. I'm not saying that all of them are bad, but I once got a newspaper comic glued to a piece of paper, it was like 3inx2in and it was cut straight, or glued nice. It barely made it through the mail, the carrier had to put it in a baggie so it wouldn't get more damaged. I collect Postcards and to me that's not a postcard. So when I think when people say they want storebought over handmade, it's to protect themselves from getting junk. I don't feel like it's that hard to go to the drugstore and buy someone a 25cent postcard if that's what they want. It's not a crime to say what you would prefer. In most swaps thats what people put in the comments section. No one is trying to take the fun out of things, we all love swapping

ladydy5 06/23/2009 #

I don't care what you send. Senders' Choice...I just love getting the mail.

Dogluvr 06/24/2009 #

Its not a crime to say what you prefer but some people who are very specific will rate their partners based on what they want, over the rules of the actual swap.... this is wrong and unfair to their partners. That's how I got burned.

Tinker60 06/24/2009 #

I wish I could go to a drugstore and get postcards for 25 cents -- that just isn't the case where I live but that really isn't the point. . . for many people they enjoy making postcards and they do a beautiful job (I have received fantastic, well-made ones) and they join these swaps so they can do their craft so they may not be rated fairly by the very specific swappers. . . and many people just do not check all the comments to see what people have written before they send and then they get rated downward if they send to a very specific swapper. No it isn't a crime to say what you prefer just as long as you don't downgrade someone who sends something other than what you preferred. . . and it is unfortunate that many people do send very bad items in their swaps (yes I have received a few).

RyeRye 06/25/2009 #

"senders choice' Ahhhhh, I love SIMPLICITY!!!! Thanks for a great, fun, easy swap!!!

Partner time I say with post cards in hand!

ladydy5 06/27/2009 #

Doesn't it say "you send what you would like" You being the sender? This is supposed to be fun not a job.
