Description:
`Sweet Little Birds Swap` You will be assigned 5 partners for this swap. To each partner, you will be sending one handmade bird ornament. Your ornaments must be 4" to 6" in size. You can use fabric or cardboard that you will embellish. Some of the major craft stores sell sweet little wooden bird ornaments for 25 cents or so and you can use those, or design your own using cardboard. Please be sure they're sturdy, but not too heavy. You can make your birds realistic or abstract, pretty or funky, vintage or modern... use your imagination and allow it to run wild. Just be sure your ornament is shaped like a bird. Sew, paint, collage...be creative, anything goes! Since these are ornaments, please be sure to incorporate a way for your bird to hang. Also, be sure to decorate both sides of your birds as once they are hanging, both sides will be on display. Lastly, be sure to attach a removable tag with your name (and user name too, so your partner can thank you). Once you're all done, you can find a perfect spot to hang them. I plan on hanging mine from ribbons above my daughter's bed. She'll love gazing at them each night as she drifts off. Swap is open to International & US Swappers. Thanks! As you can see from my profile, I have lots of bird-y inspiration. (I don't know if it would be too much trouble, but if not, I'd love it if you could let me know when you do set another up so I don't miss it...)

Same for me, I'm over-swapped, but LOVE little hanging bird things - I collect them and they hang over my kitchen sink. Also, I think it would be fun to do a smaller version, say 1 - 3 inches, they are even sweeter that way.

Please do this again!If you don't want to, I'd be glad to do it in july or August.

I originally signed up for this swap, enthusiastic, but am now (May 15) deciding to drop out rather than to risk sending late. I'm a little over-extended right now, too, but hope to join a similar swap in the future. I am an avid bird watcher and my name is Robin, so this type of swap is right up my alley! :-)

Just wanted everyone who participated in this swap know that I am starting another bird swap. Please be on the lookout for the "Even Sweeter Little Birds Swap". These birdies will be between 1-3" in size as was suggested by Jessie-messie-bo-bessie. They ought to compliment their slightly larger cousins quite nicely! Hope you'll join in again! :-)

I had a bit of a glue emergency, as in "this glue you have hates you and isn't going to stick to anything" type emergency.

My birds ARE, however finished and being dropped in the mailbox as soon as my husband gets home with stamps! I hope everyone likes their birdies =D

I hang my head low in shame. I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery and my packages are very late in leaving my neck of the woods. My sincere apologies to all. I am so sorry to be so late. A little bird told me long ago to be more proactive that way things can't come up and put me so far behind. If only I would have listened more intently. I hope everyone likes my tardy, but still sweet, little birds. xoxo, Karen
