Hi swappers! What's a rebus? A rebus is a puzzle that uses pictures or symbols to represent words or phrases. The word "rebus" comes from the Latin word res, which means "thing". Here are a few examples I found on the internet: Bumblebee and plus sign could represent the word, 'been' Can of tomatoes, UC, and well could represent 'Can you see well?' Eye, heart, and ewe could represent the phrase, 'I love you.' Head and heels: the word 'heels' appears under the word 'head' to represent, 'head over heels.' I created one for my granddaughter, Noelle Skye Pennington. I used - a circle with a line through it to represent 'no' - a picture of a well - a blue sky with clouds - a picture of a pen - a picture of a bottle of ink - a weight that reads 2000 pounds (a ton) You'll be sending TWO rebus phrases to your partner. Try to use very few letters in your rebus. You may draw or use printed pictures to create your rebus. Please remember to include a sealed note with your user id and the 'answers' to the rebuses you create (in case your partner can't figure them out ;+) Something new . . . hope you'll join in the fun! |
