May we choose a sentiment like "Thank you for being my friend" or does it have to be more of a thank you like for a gift?

This was to be a plain thank you card but, if you want to write to your partner & ask if it is OK to stamp it with thank you for being my friend, I would say go for it. Otherwise, leave it just a general thank you.
