Description:

Via the swapbot public forum, I learned about an online course called Collage Fodder (School) The possibilities are endless and I hope that there are others here in the WIYM group who will also like to create in this way. There are so many youtube tutorials. I picked one out and maybe we can try this together!

The theme is “Leaves” . Here is the tutorial

EngelBelle’s tutorial shows how she makes a series of very simple leaves using watercolor as the base. The leaves are simply shaped.

After the paint has dried she adds more details such as lines and dots. I like how she accentuates the leaves with the white gelly roll pen! When she’s finished, she fussy cuts the leaves and the end result is gorgeous. I can imagine using these leaves as embellishments in my junk journals, atc’s and decorating envelopes with them.

For this swap you will create 10 leaves in this style. The leaves can be big or small. We are fussy cutting so it does NOT have to be perfect! You can use watercolor paper , bookpages or anything else. Try it out! Feel free to just create! The only requirement is that the base is watercolor and there must be a few touches of your creativity on the leaves. (no stickers)

I have made these leaves myself and it’s so fun and relaxing to do. So take some time out of the hustle and bustle and just have some funtime for yourself!!

To take off any stress or pressure this swap has a long “send by” date!

Don’t forget to write your name and the name of this swap somewhere on or in your lightly decorated envie.

Any problems or issues please message me!

If there is enough interest, I hope to do flowers in the next swap.

p.s. Gouache is not needed. Use what you have!

Taking the plunge! Painting scares me a lot, but maybe I will be able to make something beautiful with this technique! Thanks for hosting this @petaltea

I feel the same as you! Watercoloring is not easy to control but I like the flow of it. I find that creating smaller projects takes the pressure off of me to make something perfect and grand. There’s room here to just have fun!
