Hello!

The goal for this swap will be to make one folio for your partner and tuck in at least 3 flat goodies! The tutorial is HERE. She did a Christmas theme with white background for hers, but colors and theme are sender's choice. I did mine in a starry, winter theme and it looked great on the white background, but I would imagine some colors combinations might not, so just use whatever you think matches best with your theme.

Only the one pocket she shows how to make is required, but other pockets and tucks are always okay too! Decorate as lightly or as heavily as you want as long as you have some decorations to go with your theme. Corner rounding is also not a requirement nor is the magnetic closure. I used velcro and it worked great!

I used around 5 pieces of base 8 1/2 x 11" paper in white and around 5 pieces of 12x12" patterned paper to complete the project although I didn't use double sided like she did in the tutorial as it's not needed here! A few measurements are missing from the description in her video and I did my best to list all of them below:

  • Back pocket pattern paper: 5 1/2 x 2 3/4"
  • Front flap pattern paper: (2 pieces) 1 1/2 x 8 1/4"
  • Waterfall pattern paper: (5 pieces) 4 1/4 x 6 1/4"

As a quick note, I started off using glue tape to adhere my patterned paper and learned quickly that wet glue is much more forgiving when you're trying to line everything up so use tape glue with caution!

Examples of acceptable tuck ins include:

  • At least 3 washi tape samples measuring 18" in length
  • 3 or more wax seals
  • Pattern paper tuck ins
  • tea or hot chocolate (if your partner likes that)
  • Postcards
  • Die cuts
  • At least 5 stickers measuring over 1" or one sheet
  • Profile based surprise!

When mailing please include something sturdy like cardboard to keep your piece protected from damage while going through the mail system. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out! Happy swapping! :)
