Description:

ATTENTION: Site is no longer free. You will not be required to send your font to complete this swap. Just send an image of your font.

Add your own personal flare to messages! This swap requires a scanner and access to email. I found a terrific web site that allows you to create your own personal font based on your own hand writing. The picture above is an example.

The site is:
YourFonts

The site is pretty easy and free. If you are unsure, make a font before joining.

You will attach to an email for your partner the following:
1. Your final font in truetype format
2. A screen capture of your font with a brief sample sentence.

If you have the time you can add more fonts.

Note: The font you create will be considered open source. So don't use copyrighted material to create it and the end user can use it for their own personal use.

What a great idea for a swap. I'd seen mention of programs to make a font from your handwriting and had thought about doing so.
You're on my watchlist!

I tried it, and it worked, and then it didn't work in a program. It's like the file gets corrupted when I install the font. Anyway, I've tried it twice, and if I can't get it to work I'm going to have to drop from the swap.

I tried it and created a really cool font and it works fine in Microsoft Works so I'm still in!!

Wow, this looks really cool! Hopefully the program will work for me.

I was able to help smilesandsunshine with her font. So contact me if you are having problems and I should be able to help.

The things we have to do is to send our font and a letter wrote in that font? Am I right?

Chaz 04/ 7/2009 #

Send the font and an image of the font. This can either be the image you scanned in or a screen capture. A letter written in that font might not translate in a word program and just use a standard font instead.

Emergency Notice: The web site I used has switched to a pay site. You can send a scan of your font (before you upload it) to complete this swap. You do not need to pay for your font. I am sorry this happened.
