👋🏼 Hello all,

This swap’s idea was partially contributed by crazybirbcrafts - thank you!

In February last year I created my 1st wax seal swap on swapbot. How time flies and this month we are celebrating our 1st Anniversary wax seal swap! Let’s do something totally different from our usual swap! 🥳

The use of wax seals originally took place in the Middle Ages (13th century) and was used for the wealthy or ruling classes. Nowadays, wax seals are a way to put your unique stamp on your letters, and can make any envelope instantly feel more dignified and classy. So take out your wax seal kit and have fun!

✍🏼 We are still in the mood of the New Year. Some of us perhaps are still in the process, or have written down the year’s resolutions, plans, or even achievements. The idea of this month’s swap is to WRITE a letter and SEAL it with a poured wax. You write your New Year’s plans, resolution, achievements - anything you want to share with your partner. I hope we all inspire each other. Just as ideas: you can write the habits you want to keep or rid off, travel plans, change of career, do something new, dreams, hopes, etc. The length of your letter is minimum of 2 pages of A5 papers or 1 page of A4 paper.

🔖 You will also make a tag (size is up to you) for your partner. The tag will also HAVE a wax seal element on it. You can add positive words, collages, little embellishments such as a lace, a button, etc.

⚜️ Please use 4 wax beads for standard sized stamps and use 2-3 beads for smaller sized stamps. By then, you’ll produce good impressions of seals. The colour, style & impression of the seals are up to you. Pour the wax on the folded written papers to seal it. You can use more than 1 seal (for example if you pour on the writing pages as a mini decoration). You can decorate your pages with stickers if you feel like it. So one / more poured seals on your letter & one / more poured seals on your handmade tag.

Remember that the main objective of this month’s wax seal swap is to write a letter using wax seals therefore you’re not required to make the envelope 50gr of weight. However if you wish to add something, you’re welcome to.

Please remember to write your ID, date & swap name so your partner can easily rate you. Happy swapping! 💞
