I'm trying to get up the interest in repairing a jacket from my daughter's boyfriend. It's really shredded around the pockets and I think I could make it look cool using visible mending https://egausa.org/visible-mending-introduction/. I'm finding it hard to get started, partly because it's rough going sewing through the lining and the top fabric, and I need to keep it sedate, the boyfriend isn't into loud, bright colors and patterns. Do you have a similar project to tackle but can't find the enthusiasm to get started? Please join me! I would like to start by sending before pictures of the project with a description of the plan. Then after two weeks an email update on progress, and after a month a final picture of either progress or a finished project. Discuss what you found out about your project and any insights you gained while working on this. Also, I would like to allow people to email back and forth with questions and concerns about their project, or advice about a partner's project. I'm pretty new to visible mending, so I would welcome advice. The time frame is as follows: Oct. 2 for initial pictures. Oct. 15 for first update. Nov. 1 for final pictures and final thoughts. NOTE: Make sure that you include the name of the swap and your Swap-bot user name somewhere in the e-mail so that your partner can easily rate you. Thanks so much! |
