Something I enjoyed this summer... I mostly worked this summer. But spending time with my family and my BF made it better, I enjoyed our time watching movie at home, my BF and I baked some cookies and banana bread, played with the puppies (they are a month old). It was not all day every day,,, but we had a good week before school starts :)

I mainly interned over the summer until July 23rd. For about 2 or 3 weeks due to circumstances, I was the main teacher in one class. I really liked being in charge and choosing what the students do and knowing that they relied on me to be with them and comfort them if needed. I mentioned this in one of the previous swaps, but one student (who sadly moved out of state) made me a painting over the weekend, and he as well as two other students told me they loved me. It was a huge responsibility but I loved it. I am now a full-time employee at that preschool!

I enjoyed going to our monthly Pool and Potluck parites with my sister, and seeing friends we haven't seen in a while. This event is held at an awesome home in Altadena. We always have so much fun. The pool and jacuzzi are divine.

I worked through our summer, but I did get to enjoy the outdoors with my youngest when we went to the park. He loves being outside as often as he can. Now that winter is upon us he doesn't get to do it as much, but when that sun comes out we take advantage of it.

Something I enjoyed this summer......For my son's 9 yr birthday, he wanted to stay in a hotel overnight with a suite where he had his own "room". He wanted his best friend Bentley to come a long so they could build a huge train track set all over the hotel room. oh and swim in the hotel pool. That is what we did and it was a really fun weekend. I was even to enjoy the pool because I was able to get into it since there were steps and not a ladder. (with my back injury I can't use a ladder).

I enjoyed having air conditioning and staying cool :)

What I enjoyed this summer the most was going to a small country Georgia that charmed me with its old orthodox churches and beautiful Caucasus mountains. Cminda Sameba in Kazbegi is actually the most breathtaking view I have ever seen in my life. Definitely recommend you taking a trip there, if you're a travel lover! :)

This summer I started my first job, and I’ve loved it so far ! I work at a restaurant, and I absolutely love interacting with guests ! Also, I was able to travel a bit, which was fun, especially after staying on lockdown for so long. This summer flew by, but that just means autumn is one day closer ! :))

This summer I've gone to the beach more & I'm loving it. There's a great state park up in Port Townsend (an hour from me) that has this stretch of beach & it's always clean and no crowds! It used to be a military base so there are historic things to see in the park as well. Fun Fact: An Officer & a Gentleman was filmed at this park & the town of Port Townsend!

I've enjoyed going to the beach and taking walks with my puppers Rebel!

This summer I enjoyed relaxing and spending time with my family and friends. I’m about to enter nursing school, which will be a very stressful journey, so I’m trying to enjoy as much of my free time as I can! I’ve also been catching up on my swaps and readings lots of romance and thriller books, which is always delightful! :)

I was able to go to our lake house twice this summer. It was great! I got to see a bunch of family. I enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding. The house is on Lake George in New York (USA). It's such a fun vacation to go there during the summer. Happy swapping, all!

Remodeling my house while not the best task the end product makes it my favorite summer thing!

Kts6girl 08/ 6/2021 #

I enjoyed taking my kids down to Paris, Tennessee to see my best friends family to spend a couple days before coming back to start school Monday!!

bunyipbaby 08/ 6/2021 #

I spent as much time as possible at the nearby river sitting in the shade just drinking in the tranquility, letting go of the world's madness.

theoriginalbrooke 08/ 6/2021 #

I enjoyed taking my Doxie for long walks every evening with my husband and binge watching Rupauls Drag Race!

LavenderMoon 08/ 6/2021 #

This summer what I enjoyed most was moving into my first apartment! It has been so fun adding my style to my own house!

ShyAnn64 08/ 7/2021 #

I enjoyed visiting my second son in Carmel, CA - and being able to meet his girlfriend. They are both 29, so I’m hoping this will be ‘a clock ticking moment,’ Also, my youngest, my fourth son came home after deciding to take a year off of university. He is a mathematics major... a year of learning strictly from Zoom tends to be more difficult with that major — not enough resources. He won’t be home very long, yet the time I do have is a blessing, as I’m an empty nester of 4 adult sons (ages 22, 26, 29 and 31.)

This summer I have enjoyed having a bird bath, putting bird seed out daily in a separate area and watching all the different birds that came to feed. There has also been some tiny squirrels.. Today they chased each other around and around a tree and they went up and down. It’s been like a little zoo around here…hehe!!

This summer I have enjoyed camping and being with my family and friends . And just being able to be outdoors. Also I have enjoyed my garden and it’s very small . I had cucumbers tomatoes and squash, that is , if the groundhog doesn’t get them. We also had pumpkins but he had a feast on them . It’s been very hot but I’ve enjoyed it !

I enjoyed reading out by the pool with my cat in my lap and spending time with my besties on vacation :)

Art90world 08/10/2021 #

I really enjoyed going on holidays for our friends 30th birthdays. We did glamping on a animal conservation site. It was so much fun to watch lions walk casually while we were toasting marshmallows. The second one was in an airbnb with a hot tub. It was so much fun!

I spent my summer playing in the sun kayaking, hiking and backpacking with my dogs. During poor weather, which happens in the south, either rain or just too hot, i started playing with a Gelli plate and ATCs. I even taught my 11 year old how to gelli plate and now its her go to art activity. Its been an active and artful summer and I've enjoyed every minute.

I have enjoyed going to Taco Tuesdays at the local Central Station Sports Bar with my friends. I go right after I work out at the local gym, which is just across the street from Central Station. They are only about a block from my house. I have also enjoyed having my sister here in town. She just moved back last summer and has a lovely home. I loved going to her house and watching the Summer Olympic Games with her. We both love the Olympics. We had the opportunity to go to lots of the events in 1984 in Los Angeles. I have also enjoyed our summer monthly Pool and Potluck parties.

In the begining of July I was a camp counsellor for 14 days. Then I spent some time with my family and together we discovered many new places in our region we didn't know about before. I worked at some summer jobs, too. I worked in two ice cream shops and worked as receptionist at some information centre. I didn't work at full-time job like majority of swap-bot community, because I didn't finished my studies yet. And I currently work on one journalistic project for my college. I enjoyed everything this summer, every day was pretty cool :).

I really enjoyed making papercrafts! I've been in a lot of swaps and it kept me really busy! Stress free time with crafting! It's been a hot Summer!

I enjoyed planning my daughter’s first birthday party. My family was hit by COVID on both sides, so we were especially excited to welcome her first year with our first big party in almost two years. Though many tears for those who would no longer be here or meet my little one, it was a special day. It was especially special as she is our little rainbow baby as well as our last.

cherlita 08/11/2021 #

Honestly, I don't have summer here because I live in a tropical country. Sun all year long! And since these days are hot I love to make fruit juices or milkshake during the hottest periods!

After 2020, I had high hopes of having a normal summer in 2021 filled with trips to see family and friends and to an international destination which I do on odd years. Covid and its variants like Delta halted those plans. So, instead of grabbing my passport and backpack, I'm spending Summer 2021 reading (roma , crafting, attending virtual conferences and planning my post-Covid international travel. I have so enjoyed papercrating with crafters around the world, i.e. 1,000 crafters from 9 countriesz fr ewith hundreds of,?-- everything from scrapbooking, stenciling, painting, making ATCs to going to socially distanced crops. I have scrapbooked and crafted and read, then read some more, and scrapbooked some more. There were livestreamed weddings and funerals

I enjoyed being with my grandkids this summer. My granddaughter is starting high school this year so we done clothes shopping. We went swimming and played badminton. Great summer.

olieandava 08/12/2021 #

I spent my hot Tennessee summer playing in the sun kayaking, hiking and backpacking with my dogs. During poor weather, which happens in the south, either rain or just too hot, i started playing with a Gelli plate and ATCs. I also honed my junk journal making skills! something therapeutic about making something usable from "junk". I even taught my 11 year old how to gelli plate and now its her go to art activity. Its been an active and artful summer and I've enjoyed every minute.

What I always enjoy every summer is watching all 3 of my boys play baseball. My oldest got to play almost 100 games between mid March and late July. They almost won 2 state titles: spring and then summer. It was a very special team. 13 of those boys he played with will be playing ball in college. My son will be missing them but he’s gained so much experience and a new “family”.

I’ve enjoyed my new job. I’ve found something I enjoy and a work environment I thrive in and it’s just made me so happy to know it is out there! Working with people in crisis is so rewarding and I am growing and learning every day. I’m actually excited to go to work and for what the future holds.

NRGordon 08/12/2021 #

I am still recovering from Covid I had in January. I still have weak and unsteady legs that keep me from hiking, and some post-covid fog brain which makes reading hard, so I haven’t been able to do a lot of my favorite summer activities. The things I have enjoyed this summer are operating ham radio, listening to music, swaps, spending time with the grandkids, and working on my model railroad.

sarahmaus33 08/12/2021 #

This summer I kept busy sending snail mail to my penpals, and sending lots of artsy swaps to different countries. I enjoyed time at home with my family and our abundance of pets; between dogs, cats, birds, hens and turtles, there’s really no excuse to stay bored at home. I also enjoyed planning for new business ideas for the future.
