This will be the last swap in this zine cycle. When you receive the zine from your partner, do your page if there is space available and then mail the zine back to the owner of the zine. I will host a swap for anyone who needs a page added to their zine if it wasn't finished. This should be the last round but if we need to add a couple of rounds we can. contact me. We might have to do it after Christmas, but we can get it done! Or we can make arrangements for private swaps with those who still need to finish their zines. When you complete the final page, send it home to its owner!!! This is a collaborative zine swap. It will consist of 6 (count 'em six!) rounds. Please don't join if you can't commit to all 6 rounds of this swap. Hi! I (sam jowers) am taking over the zine go round to give Dave a break. I think he still plans to swap but doesn't need to do all the other stuff! It will work like this: Round 1: You will make a standard mini-zine from an 8.5 X 11 inch piece of paper. You will decide on a theme for your zine and decorate the front and back pages (covers) accordingly. You should include some contact info on the back page or inside behind the back page. The back page is also good for all the contributors to put their names. You will add a little note explaining what your theme is and what you would like to see in your zine. Then you will send that unfinished zine to your partner. Round 1 complete! Round 2: You will decorate page 2 of the zine you received in Round 1. Follow the originator's theme. Place your name and address behind your page so that the originator can send you a copy when they get it back home. these turn out so awesome and I love seeing how they turn out! Then you will send it to your Round 2 partner. Rounds 3 thru 6: We will continue swapping zines, contributing one page at a time until they are full. Then you will send it back to the originator. Use any media you like - collage, pencil, marker, paint - whatever media you like to create with. We did a bunch of these a number of years ago and they are GREAT fun! It's so cool to see everyone's art and different takes on themes. Be sure to put your address or contact info on the back page, or the person who adds the final page won't know whom to send it back to. ** If you get yours back before the rounds are over, contact me and tell me your theme. I will try to make a page for your zine in time for you to send it on to your next partner. it sometimes happens. ** If you are joining the go round late, go ahead and join. I plan to do some make up swaps at the end so that anyone who missed one can get theirs finished. **I make recycle reusable envelopes for every round I get. please make sure you put packing tape under any stickers and stamps so that they can be removed and the envelope can be reused. I also tuck little surprises under the labels so....peel those labels off!! Clear as mud? Please send any questions you might have to me via PM, not this page. We'll do a round a month and I will have them loaded up so you can plan. |
