Description:

Phrenology is a bit of quackery from the olden days that claimed that certain personality traits and skills corresponded to the shape of the cranium and parts of the brain. Though it was discredited as scientific theory by 1840, phrenology charts remain as an interesting artistic artifact from the period.

For this swap, make a postcard featuring your own phrenology chart depicting things that are important to you - interests, quirks, habits or any other "special" traits of yours. Favorite foods, fandoms, color obsessions, fears, celebrity crushes, bad habits...whatever makes up you & your mind.

You can make your postcard using any medium. Print out a phrenology chart and collage or draw images in the spaces, digitally edit the phrenology chart and then print the image and apply to sturdy stock or even draw your phrenology chart from scratch and fill it in. Get creative and share your style along with what makes you tick.

Here are some examples of artists' phrenology charts...

Your personal phrenology chart needs to have at least 10 sectors. Most charts I've found online are composed of 30+ sectors, but for our purposes, 10 is enough. Of course you can go whole-hog and do 30+ if you want. The traits/items can be listed with images, as text or a combination.

Here are some phrenology charts ready to alter/print:

--Option 1
--Option 2
--Option 3

Feel free to search online and find a chart style that suits you. There are a lot more than what I've linked.

Send your personal phrenology chart postcard naked, stamped and written on. If anything is left unclear, please let me know!

Swap image is the chart I made when I first hosted this swap back in 2017. My chart was created digitally then printed and added to a painted background. [pic]
