Handmade Christmas Card Swap 2009

UPDATED INFO: October 3, 2009 Hello All. My apologies for any confusion regarding this swap. I am privately contacting everyone who is currently signed up, but I wanted to give a general update, and explain the changes I've made. My computer died (permanently this time) back in May so I haven't been here in quite some time. For whatever reason, my daughter was having trouble accessing and viewing this site from her homepc, so that was o help. With the economy has it is, it has taken me quite a while to finally got another. I am thrilled to be able to get back to my favorite places, and keep up with my artwork. I am really looking forward to this swap, as it is my first time hosting one. So far we have been off to grand old start (LOL), but hopefully it will be clear sailing from here. In response to my absence and resulting concern and confusion I am extending the sign up deadline 2 weeks, the new deadline is now Saturday October 17, 2009. The swaps due date is the same. Do you want to receive some extra Yuletide cheer this holiday season? Do you enjoy creating your own greeting cards? Do you have lots of little scraps and bits of this and that you want to use up? Do you need yet another excuse to spend some quality time crafting? Then this swap is for you!!

For the upcoming 2009 Holiday season, you will design and create a personal holiday greeting for each of your lucky recipients. The theme, (non-offensive) and designs (tasteful) are up to you. Be sure to include a special message for your partners, and you could send extra goodies for hearts if you choose.

The only real stipulations for these cards is that you design and create each one individually. Making multiples of the same design, or making each one different and unique is entirely up to you. This would be a great project for you to try out all those different techniques you come across and say "some day I'll try that".

Please no purchased pre-designed or computer printed cards, it's much more fun to design your own anyway. The whole idea here is for you to enjoy the process of making and sending them, and then receiving the same kind of effort in return. Remember, make and send only what you would like to receive. There is nothing worse than pouring your heart into a crafted swap, and then getting something in return that is nothing more than a sticker or two on a piece of paper. There will be more than enough time allowed to really pay attention to the details and make the cards really special.

This swap will be open to anyone, anywhere, who has a good solid rating, no unexplained no-sends or a fully completed profile. This is going to be a larger, more time consuming swap so if you do not intend to follow through then please don't sign up for it. This swap should be a lot fun on both the giving and receiving ends.

Remember you don't have to wait to get started on your cards. Make them up and stash them until the deadline. Could be an excuse to craft yourself a beautiful card holder or some such thing. I know how we crafters always need excuses to be able to spend a little time getting reacquainted with our craft supplies. LOL
