Description:

. . . . . . . MAKE A HEART-THEMED SURPRISE FOR YOUR PARTNER. . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . .

I apologize to our friends in Europe and Canada. Unfortunately, it appears that mail, in general, continues to be iffy and the thought of releasing a potentially time-intensive project into the far-flung wild is anxiety producing for many of our members. For that reason, I've edited this swap to make it regional to the United States. If you are in another country and would like to do a different version of a valentine swap, please message me. I'm SO looking forward to the end of this nonsense! Aren't we all?

Start by downloading and printing this 3-inch heart pattern from patternuniverse.com. Please let me know if you have issues with the download. If so, I can print the heart template and send it to you before the swap closes. If you can't download it through the link, go to the site itself and look for the three-inch pattern. @LizzyJo tells me she had success with that approach.

Although there are six hearts per page, you are required to use only one.

Use this heart template to launch your creation.

From this point on, this project is your own. As long as it involves some sort of needle and/or thread (string, yarn, twine, floss, etc.) and at least one heart you've traced onto something or cut from the pattern, you are free to make whatever suits your fancy.

Any methods and materials are acceptable.

Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Felt a heart.

  • Stitch a pouch.

  • Stuff a sachet.

  • Bead a brooch.

  • Make an ornament.

  • Create a cloth book.

  • Cross-stitch a sampler.

  • Design a heart-shaped patch.

  • Embroider a Valentines' Day card.

  • Sew a doll with a heart-shaped body.

Whatever you do best or would like to try . . . GIVE IT A GO!
