Winter Solstice is approaching, at least for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere! So here's a simple, quick swap for Yule/Winter Solstice, to bring some warmth and cheer! This is a Type 2 (flat mail) swap, you will be assigned one partner. You can use a store bought card or make one by hand - create something with some effort and magic in it, don't worry about your level of artistic skill but DO do more than simply slapping some stickers on cardstock haphazardly. Using a card that doesn't have explicit pagan imagery is totally fine (i.e. winter scenes and "happy holidays"; but do try to give it some magical/pagan flair by adding your own imagery somehow to the card/envelope/an insert). On the card, or in an insert, write/print out a spell, ritual, manifestation or tradition for your partner that has to do with Yule or the Winter Solstice. Make sure what you send is something you would be glad to receive and use as seasonal/altar décor or add to a book of shadows. Put it in an envelope, including somewhere in that your swap-bot name and the name of the swap, decorate the envelope, and if you can, stamp it ahead of time. Once partners are assigned, address it and mail it asap so that it can arrive to your partner asap. This will hopefully be a quick turnaround swap, although do be understanding that mail can take its own time. It is possible you wont receive your card by Yule, but you can always add it to your book of shadows and incorporate the spell/card in next year's celebrations, and of course you can work Yule-related magic before and after the holiday itself, too. As always, rate your partner according to swap-bot's guidelines. I'll angel if needed after ratings have been given. For this swap, it's okay if you want to wait to open your card/give a detailed rating on Yule or another day, but try to at least leave your partner a 5 when you receive their swap and go back to leave a more detailed response once you've opened it if you appreciated what you received. Some inspiration: any traditional Yule associations, including but not limited to - sunlight, winter landscapes, gold, stags, ravens, serpents, animal/nature's adaptations for winter, evergreens, red berries, yule logs, candle magic, ice magic, fire magic, yule/solstice deities/spirits/folklore, kitchen witchery and baking, making wishes, welcoming the return of the sun, hibernation, birth and rebirth, the longest night, reflection and insight, healing work, divination, gratitude, hygge, blessings and good cheer 🌟 |
