Hello everyone!

This is round #2, so go ahead and add your special additions to the notebook you received the previous round, and use this to pass those lovely notebooks on :)

If you are new to this traveling journal type swap, please see below:

To start, find a small soft cover book about A5 size (5x7 inches). Something like a travel notebook inserts with about 30 pages should work perfectly. The book should not be too thick or heavy and please no spiral books. Homemade notebooks are OK! Think about the weight of the book and the cost of sending it. Keep in mind and be considerate to others who will have to pay for your notebook to be shipped each round.

The first person starting the book will decorate the cover however they choose, wallpaper, wrapping paper, anything you like.

Inside the front cover write your name, address (so the book is returned when it is full) swap name and your swap-bot username.

Fill out two full pages in the notebook with an introductory letter, an entry about your day, where you're from, the weather, or whatever you'd like. Add photos, stickers, washi tape, drawings, etc, if you wish. I've seen A-Z lists on someone describing themselves, Netflix show rating lists, funny jokes, favorite quotes, collages. Add anything you would like to see someone else do. Be creative! Use only pens that do not bleed onto the next page, please. Don't forget to date your entry. You may add something separate for your partner if you wish, a pen pal intro letter or something else related to their likes, but you don't have to. Also, write your swapbot ID so you can be rated.

When you are done with your pages, send the book onto your partner.

That partner will then wait for the next swap in this series and fill out their pages and send on to their partner and so on.

Once the book is full, the last person to write in the book will send it to the owner of the book (as stated on the inside cover).

At the end when your book is returned to you, you will have a book full of stories and entries from all over the world!

Please allow plenty of time to receive and send the book. This swap will take commitment to subsequent swaps in this series. If you don't plan on continuing with later swaps please don't join. I'm sorry but this is supposed to be fun.

Do not worry if you miss a round while waiting to receive a notebook. It matters more that you join rounds in order to get a partner and be able to send notebooks on.

If you have any questions or concerns, please message me!

Maybe this is a dumb question but what if we have a notebook from another similar swap that meets the requirements and we haven't seen that swap continued, can we use that you guys think? Maybe thats not acceptable because I know some people watch carefully to see where their notebooks go to.. but just wanted to move this notebook on and wondered if that worked, anyone have opinions on this? Don't want to do the inappropriate thing

Starforest 11/17/2020 #

Oh maybe I should add i guess now that I look at it the one I had already was originally supposed to be a USA swap so maybe that matters =/

dustypink 11/18/2020 #

How long would you anticipate the books to be returned back to the original person. A year or so? Or longer do you think? Thank you

bbade 11/24/2020 #

Hey @Starforest ! It is not a dumb question at all. I had the same problem with having a leftover journal, but it was originally from an international swap therefore I must continue circulating it through an international swap to make sure it gets home! Are there USA only swaps for traveling journals open right now? If not, do you think I should start one, if that would be helpful? I'm sure you are not the only person in that boat!

bbade 11/24/2020 #

Hey @dustypink ! I am anticipating it may take up to a year to fill out the journals completely. Given that it is an international swap, I am allowing 2-3 weeks in between each round to make sure everyone receives their mail before the next round. I think if you have a 30 page journal, and everyone is filling out at least 2 pages, it should make it home by a year at least. I would love to hear feedback if packages aren't taking very long to be delivered, I could shorten the distance from one round to another. Where we are right now, each round is set up roughly a month apart, so I would love to shorten that time up if possible.

Great question! @dustypink

bbade 11/24/2020 #

My apologies for the late responses!

TaraBird 12/10/2020 #

Do you mean 30 sheets or 30 pages

noname13 12/10/2020 #

Do you plan to ban the swapper with the 1.000 rating score?

Shion 12/11/2020 #

How long do you what to host between swaps? just asking because the mail has been really slow getting to where I live.

HippieChick 12/12/2020 #

The host of this swap has not logged on for the last 7 days. I would strongly recommend dropping this swap. There are plenty of quality hosts that have journal swaps.

bbade 12/12/2020 #

@Shion I plan on having a 3 week gap in between each swap, but with the current mail system seems to be moving slow..especially with international packages. Maybe after this round, we will take a break. I apologize for my inactivity on swap-bot, as @HippieChick mentioned, I am trying my best. Thank you for being gracious with me, as this is a hefty swap to host.

@CraftyTara , I think 15 pages, or 30 sides, may fill up quicker than 30 pages (with 60 sides) may fill up. So, in that case, I suggest around 15 pages. This is a long swap and it may take a long time for your journal to return to you! If you'd like to add more pages you can, but I personally think less may be better in this case.

TaraBird 12/14/2020 #

@bbade Thanks, I couldn't find any journals that small so I got what I could. I don't care if it takes longer. It is still small and light. Hope that's okay.

bbade 12/14/2020 #

@CraftyTara you are all good then! :)

TaraBird 12/18/2020 #

@bbade my blank journal was held up in the mail so i can not make the deadline. what can i do??
