@gosney suggested that (the original Artsy ATC)[http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/25721] be a monthly thing, so I'm going to give it a try and see if there's interest :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a regular letter sized piece of paper, create an image. This is any artistic expression of anything you want. Draw, paint, collage, sketch, watercolor, scrapbook, whatever... create.
Once you have an image on a sheet of paper, cut it into 3 rows and 3 columns - with a little clean up on the size, this'll give you 9 ATCs.
Send 3 ATCs to each of 3 partners.
They don't have to be three from the same column, or row, 3 at random from your image. You can modify the individual ATCs or send them 'as is' after cutting them apart from the whole.
It's like a puzzle where you don't have all the pieces, but they'll all be unique and an expression of your partner!
The reason for the extended send date is so that you have plenty of time to create your original image. Let go and have fun with this one!
Any clarifications needed, please message me.
Can I use a print of one of my own original paintings?
Luckystar37 01/27/2009 #
@nicole309 absolutely.
Basically, if it's "art" to you, it's art for this swap. But something that you yourself made is all that much better! :)
Could you change paper to card stock. An ATC needs to be sturdier that a piece of paper.
Luckystar37 01/28/2009 #
@alteredtome I meant the art is on the piece of paper first, unless people want to create directly on a 7.5 x 10.5 or larger piece of cardstock. I would assume most people mount their drawings, etc afterwards. In the LAST Artsy ATC, that is the exact wording I used. There was no problem with this wording. Plus, I've received some lovely ATCs that are on paper. So I disagree that an ATC "has" to be sturdier than paper. It can be material, paper, cardstock, whatever the creator chooses. This swap is not about limiting people's creativity, it's about letting them create whatever they see as art.
That sounds great. I was just concerned because I have received ATCs that were only a piece of paper thick.
I am really looking foward to this one its the sort of thing I love! Lee You are playing my tune!
I love to create ATC's this way! Of course with my style of drawings, it would be difficult to tell...they are pretty abstract... is that ok?
Luckystar37 02/15/2009 #
@franstuff any style is welcomed! :) Last time I drew a big picture, cut it up and embellished it. This time I made a mandela
SORRY for setting up partners late! I was away from the computer all weekend. Have fun creating your ATCs!
This swap will be repeated either monthly or every other month, depending on interest :)
