Description:

trying this one for a second time ( because I was asked by MANY...)

I know there are some of you out there (like me) who are addicted to fabric! I mean the type of person who sits on a HORDE of fabric & goes slightly mental when ( & if ever...) decide to cut into their beautiful stash to create something...well then this swap is for you!

Some details: this is a "flat rate box" swap (the kind from the post office that the weight doesn't matter as long as the box can shut, you're good to go...) size of the box is up to you, but i ask that you at least send the smaller rectangle sized one ( I believe it costs $9.20) you can send the bigger one ($12) for more rants & raves & hearts galore, but it is NOT required!

Now, what to send: FABRIC! pretty simple. (Now here's where the swap will differ in suggestions from last time...) some people were upset that they got "plain" fabric or were upset with color choices...well the whole point of this swap is to share what you already have from your stash (or horde..) so nothing too expensive, NO pure silks, or specific designers (unless you WANT to give that...it's up to the sender, NOT the receiver...) but also in the same breath, PLEASE no god awful-Brady Bunch looking-anything that resembles a bodily fluid-stained up-ripped up-in other words-NO NASTY LOOKING PRINT OR PLAIN THAT YOU WOULDN'T EVEN PUT ON A DOG type of fabric. I hope that explains enough what NOT to send. I am also asking that you send at least "half-yard" cuts of fabric, or more. NO FQ's, or scrap sized pieces! Please people, be good to your partners & they will be good to those they send to as well! Please don't be TOO picky (like asking for specfic designers, or for fabrics you KNOW costs $20-$30 a yard, etc...) Please send cottons, poly-cottons, things like that (or if somebody has allergies then DON'T send stuff like that, like wool, etc...)

Requirments: you must have a rating of 4.5 or higher, NO "no-sends", a "complete" profile filled out ( I will ban anyone who doesn't have enough info to go by on their profile, or seems too fishy, etc...) I will allow newbies who have at least 5 recent sends (actual mailed out sends, not e-mail type) under their belts, with replies...just so those who have been here longer will have some sence of security that they will be getting something back! & sorry, but I am keeping this an US only, due to cost. (if anyone wants to do a similar swap for international, please feel free to do so!)

Hopefully the only cost should be sending the box. In other words, I don't expect anyone to go out & purchase more fabric to please their partner. If you have TONS of fabric already, I trust you should have enough variety to send without having to go to a fabric shop!

e-mail, or PM me if you have ANY questions. HAPPY SWAPPING & SEWING!!!

Would it be okay to send 5 yards of one fabric? That would just fit in the box...it is a continous 5 yards...it is lovely, cotton....or do we have to have a mix?

paulavelosa 01/27/2009 #

I'de love to get insane... but I'm in europe... and it's no problem, because I MUST cut on the swaps! thanks God I'm not in USA...

momilani510 01/27/2009 #

skippymom-you can send as much or as little of one kind of fabric, but the flat rate boxes, can hold quite a bit, so if there is room, the point is to fill the box all the way...

momilani510 01/27/2009 #

I hear ya paulavelosa, the swaps ARE addictive....

missnihkii 01/27/2009 #

I like polka dots, skulls, stripes, and textures. My favs ever are the swiss dot by robert kaufman and skullfinity by Alexander hamilton, which I can't find anywhere around here anymore. If you use those as an idea of the types of fabric I like, you should be able to ind something cool in your stash for me to rave about.

Funk have you tried the net for Alexandria Hamilton? I am afraid if I had you for a partner I would only have stripes - :( and I would want it to be more fun than that! [I used all my polka dot up in other swaps and Christmas stuff...]

you need to know that the price of the flat rate boxes went up in January. Just keep that in mind.

momilani510 02/ 9/2009 #

yes, the price has gone up...$10.35 for domestic...(but you seem to get a 5% discount if you do the postage online at www.usps.com)
