Stamping With Bleach ATC

this sounds a really interesting technique! do you usually use already colored papers or do you paint them before using bleach? and if so what do you usually use??

I have only used paper that was already colored,,but these technique swaps are about trying and learning new ways of doing different techniques..I am learning so much from all of you and If anyone has a different way of doing any technique I hope they share it with the rest of us and post it here,,,I want to learn all the different ways of doing things that I can..

In my experience, colored cardstock or construction paper works best... especially darker colors. But you may want to test out some scraps before you go for it- some dyes only change colors with bleach (black turns brown or orange, green turns yellow, etc).

I have used toothpicks, paint brushes, and cotton swaps to "paint" with bleach before--- just remember to wash your brushes well and let the paper dry COMPLETELY before trying to cut, glue, or embellish it, otherwise you will have a mess and the chemical will start bleaching your embellishments and other papers it come into contact with.

Also, this technique is not archival quality- don't store them without a sleeve to protect the rest of your collection.

Thank you Panda2778..I found the toothpick and cotton swaps thing very interesting so I tried drawing a few odd shapes and writing some names with both of them and I had some great results..I am having so so much fun with the toothpicks and cotton swaps that and I have made quite a mess in my craft room I have tried bleach on everything...

Just in case anyone wants to know, colored fine sand doesn't work [dang] all my scrapbook safe paints are bleach proof too, lol.

I had an awful job finding paper that would bleach. I tried almost everything I have in my stash and found that the only one that worked was coloured tissue paper.
