Description:

I see a lot of swaps for dishcloths and as much as Iove making dishclothes, I also love making potholders! There are lots of free patterns on the web for crochet or knit potholders. You will make 1 potholder for 1 partner. Since potholders aren't too heavy, this will be international.

Newbies are welcome as long as their profile is filled out fully. I want detailed profiles, not one liners! I will be checking. Rating of 4.5 and higher and no no sends within the last 3 months!

Have fun!

Sounds like fun! I'm already having visions of strawberries and cherries and chickens and..........there's so many options. I can't control myself!

I have a question... do the potholders have to be functional? Meaning useable? I have beautiful potholders that have buttons and such on them that I hang on my walls.... If I use them, of course the buttons would melt? Clarification please... Thanks!

OK, I see a lot of patterns that are good as dishcloths or potholders. In the past I crocheted two dishcloths the same size and then crocheted them together to make a potholder. Is that ok?

does cotton have to be used or can acrylic?

I would say cotton yarn it won't melt or fuse to your skin..

hmmm, all very good questions!

HuntrsWyf - I think it's up to you whether you want to make the potholder functional (with buttons or without) although just because it's got buttons on it doesn't make it not functional! Sometimes I just use a potholder on the table for a bowl to protect the table and not necessarily for a hot pot. I think as long as it looks nice, that's fine.

mutantpenguin - crocheting 2 dishcloths together are fine!

lilacamy931 - I've actually used both cotton and acrylic, I never thought about the melting factor of acrylic!
