Fabric Postcard Swap (February)

I have just found this art and i love it. there is just something very special about a postcard(email but personal). and when it is fabric just makes it more special. I've just joined swap-bot so i will be watching good luck

Do you do the satin stitch binding the 3 layers at the edge by machine or by hand?

I use my machine.

i have never made a fabric postcard...obviously there is a front and back....what do you put in the middle if anything? Is there maybe a tutorial? Will put this on my watch list until I figure out if I can figure out how to make one LOL

ok so you say use a light muslin for the back so you can see the persons info.....do you write on the muslin?? And is it ok not to write on it and just put it in a padded envie to mail?

After I make the decorative top, I make mine quite stiff with several layers of very stiff interfacing held together with craft bond that is ironed on. Then I satin stitch all around the layers.You can see some of my cards on my flickr site. I use my machine to write 'postcard' at the top of the back (it is required to write postcard at the top center back). I'll be sure there is an example on my flickr site. If you google fabric postcards, you will easily find tutorials. I always mail mine naked and ask for them to be hand canceled. I make sure I have extra time at the PO for everyone to come and look {>D
