Description:

Recently, I was gifted with a full set of crochet hooks. Now, I would like to keep them organized and all in one place!

I found a great blog online that gives a tutorial on how to make a crayon roll, and if you modify the pattern a bit, you can make a crochet hook roll. I guess you could also use it for markers, or pencils, or knitting needles, or chopsticks.

This swap is for anyone who wants such an organizer. You can sew one up or buy one for your partner. Feel free to model yours after the picture, use a different pattern, or make your own pattern! I just ask that the organizer is a roll--that way people know what they are getting!

To get the organizer that you want, make a note in the comments section of this swap. I'll make my note first to give you an idea of what to do.

This swap is open to swappers in good standing with swap-bot. If you look like a flaker, I'll PM you to ask you what's going on, and then I'll use my judgment on who stays and goes.

Oh, the tutorial is the "swap homepage" or you can copy and paste this link: http://www.skiptomylou.org/2007/04/25/on-a-roll/

Any questions?

I would like an organizer for my crochet hooks. I have at least 10 of them now, and would like room to grow. Thanks!

I would like one with lots of spots for crochet hooks. I have close to 30 hooks and don't have anything cute like this to use. What a great idea! If you don't want to do one for so many, anything you make will be great! Thanks in advance!

one thing I thought when reading the tutorial at the link.... to do a hook or needle roll, it is really best to have a flap that covers the items before you roll it. This keeps them from sliding out.

I actually made one for myself very recently and was trying to work up a crayon roll like it, for my older kid.
