Description:

I have a USA swap of this going, but had some interest in Intl, so here it is! Everybody join up and have fun!

I thought it would be fun to do a book swap with the alphabet (hopefully adding a new letter apprx once a month). I love reading and love the chance to share books I have read.

For this swap you will read one book using the letter "A" for either the author name or the book name. For example for "A" you could read any book by the author Margaret Atwood, or you could read the book "The Appeal" by John Grisham (we won't count 'the' as the first word, since it is in lots of titles). This can be a book you have already read or a new one you have been wanting to read, or maybe an old favorite you want to re-read.

When you have read your book, you will send the book on to your partner, with a note about why you chose the book, what you liked about it, or maybe didn't like about it, or a connection you made to the book's characters, etc. Sort of a book club for one! Hopefully we will all get to read some new books or discover a new author or new genre.

So each person reads one book, sends the book and a note about the book, on to their partner. I'm giving a little extra time since some people have more time to read than others. However, you don't have to wait to get your partners assigned to start reading. This does not have to be profile based. For hearts, maybe you can send along a bookmark or a book cover, or something that ties into the book theme. Be creative! A nice extra touch would be for each partner to then send a thank you after reading the book and letting your partner know how you liked the book and what your impression was.

Since this is international, maybe we should read paperbacks as they will be cheaper to send. Also check with your post office about the cheapest ways to send on books. I will allow newbies as you have to start somewhere! But be sure you are able to commit to this before signing up. Also, you must have a rating of 4.8 or higher and no no-sends in the last month. This isn't a hard swap, but everyone deserves to receive the swap items agreed upon, so be respectful of that. Also don't rate based on whether you liked the book sent to you, but rather on if you actually received the book!

And Happy Swapping!

What a great idea, DebP. It really IS like a book club for one. Just brilliant!
