Description:

September 21 is World Gratitude Day. This celebration started in 1965 in Hawaii when an international gathering decided that it would be a good idea to have one day per year to formally express gratitude and appreciation for the many wonderful things to be found in the world. Following the meeting in Hawaii, many attendees marked Gratitude Day on 21st September 1966 when back in their own countries. Ever since then, the number of people celebrating Gratitude Day across the world has grown and grown.

A regular practice of expressing your gratitude has been show to improve mental and physical health, boost self esteem, enhance empathy, reduce aggression, help people sleep better and improve mental strength.

I thought it would be a great idea to set up a swap to have each of us to write or type a two-page letter expressing our gratitude for the things in our lives. This letter should be a more than a list of things for which you are grateful and should include some detail about the things you note. Let us all be inspired, record our gratitude and share it with others!

This swap will be open to new swappers with completed profiles and swappers that meet the rating minimum requirement, to include no recent 1s or 3s. I will vet swappers before assigning partners and angel should this be required.

In celebration of this day, I will mail a blank gratitude journal to one lucky swapper I chose via random drawing. All swappers in good standing, who complete this swap with a 5 rating, will be eligible for the drawing, which will take place before the end of October, to allow time for all swaps to be received and rated, since this is an international swap.

Partners are assigned. I will check back at the end of the swap to make sure swap are sent and at the beginning of October to see if they've been received, before I do the drawing. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns in the mean time.

I’ve had a few swappers with questions after partners were asssigned. So, it’s a bit late to announce, but “two pages” is sender’s choice. Interpret it as you will. Send a nice letter. I’m sure no one will disappoint her partner.

Looked to see if ratings were granted and also e-mailed all to let me know if there were problems by Oct 8 when I plan to do the prize drawling.

Still waiting for letters and ratings. Today, my partner let me know she did not receive what I sent. So, I'll be resending tomorrow.
