Description:
  1. Take an 8" x 8" sheet of paper - cardstock, watercolor paper, etc.; something flexible but not too flimsy.

  2. With a pencil, lightly trace the outline of an 8" circle within the square sheet of paper. You should have something that looks like the swap graphic.

  3. Collage the inside of this circle however you wish! Use cut+paste techniques to make something abstract, realistic, surreal, random, whatever. It's sender's choice. Remember that whatever your design, it needs to fill the circle evenly because...

  4. When you're finished with your 8" squared circle piece, divide it evenly into four 4" x 4" sections.

  5. Keep one of your own sections for yourself and send one of the other 3 sections to each of your 3 partners. When you receive the new sections from your own partners, combine them to reform a new collaborative squared circle artwork.

Sign and date the back of each piece and send them along in envelopes to your partners.

To give you an idea of what this will end up looking like...

That's a "quarter circle mural" created by a group of high school students.

Any questions? Let me know if something isn't clear about this project. I'm leaving a bit of extra sign-up time to hopefully get more participants and make this really interesting.

I replied to the above question via PM, but just in case anyone else is looking and wondering: it's not specified in the swap description, so treat the small corner areas outside of the circle as you wish----color, paint, cover with patterned paper, use pattern paper to begin with, leave it blank if it suits you...
