Cocaine Kate Mix CD Swap

Hey Kimmie!

Great idea! I thought about doing the very same thing in one of my swapping groups, or here on swap-bot, but wasn't sure how well it would go over with other members. But, you were brave enough to do it and I'm really excited about making mine! I might play a few reggae songs since ganja is their favorite subject for songs (most of them), and it will be a challenge coming up with other songs, too! But, I am up to it!:cD

Love the idea! There's so many songs out there that sound "festive". And I love edgy stuff. It is kinda weird on this site becuse you never know who you will offend thats true but it doesnt hurt to put it out there! Oh and Sherifaerie you are practically my neighbor! I live in Studio City. Small world!!

Hmm, I'd love to be in on this one, not sure if I can find enough songs though :P How about songs that sound like the people musta been on drugs to make 'em hahahah!

I am sure the title and this swap may offend some people. I am so glad that everyone is excited about it though. But I am not forcing anyone to sign up. LOL!!!

Oh this is such a brilliant idea! I've got so many ideas for songs to put on the cd! :)

I am really looking forward to this, so far I have over 5 hours of drug related songs hehe, and that's just what I found on my hard drive. It seems to be a really popular theme in song, and I haven't got one reggae style song yet either :)

Ha! 5 hours of songs! Maybe I'm naive or don't listen to song lyrics properly :P

I made a community on livejournal for swap-bot swappers to post pictures of what they're swapping, make friends, etc. It is a very new community, and I think it will be a lot of fun as soon as people start joining.

I just have a question about packaging the CD's, do they need to be in a jewel case or can we make slip covers for them? How do people normally package their mix CD's for swaps?

Shoot, I have to leave the swap--the program I use to download music isn't working properly anymore. I was really excited about this swap too (I had the most fantastic play list made and everything). I hope you do another one soon. ):

No the cd's don't need jewel cases, you can use paper sleeves.

I think I like these more eclectic mix cd swaps, I still have to narrow down which songs to put on, I am down to 56 at the moment and I am sure I can weed out a few of those :) I already have my cover versions cd's ready for burn.
I think DJing has made me get addicted to making play/set lists hehehe. Hoorah on the paper sleeves, that will definately cut costs for me :D

Kimmie this is awesome. I saw the title and signed up right away. I didn't even care if you were going to ask us to include a endangered animal I would have worked it out, because I was that excited about the CD idea. I have so much music and drugs are def. a recurring theme. I am making sure to have a wide range of music, from rock, blues, reggae, hip-hop, folk, modern and pop. Great idea, and I too vote for a part II because I really had to cut down a bunch just to make it fit on the CD. whooot!

I'm such a dork but I bought a pack of 25 CD-Rs today to do swaps with! Hooray. :)

My CD's will be leaving before the deadline, but alas I cannot get them out today as I had wanted to, my burner decided it doesn't like to acknowledge blank CD's anymore, which isn't a huge prob, there are spares, but I have to wait until atleast tonight to ask my boyfriend before I rip them out of his computer ^_^;; But no post office until Monday, but they will be off and away, just give em a little extra time coming from Australia. If you shall excuse me I am going to go and commence swearing at my CD burner now (should have known after it tried to eat a CD I was ripping >:( gwoar)

Chelsea, I got your CD today, it is playing right at the moment, and I am loving it! You and I opened our CD's with the exact same song, good ol Johnny Cash <3 thats the only song I had that doubled up, though I almost put eminem on mine too :) love it so far, especially the more southern style music.
