Description:

With @manachai s most gracious approval, I am hosting one of her swaps here in our group. I've modified my swap a bit from her version, which is located here: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/258792, in case you are interested in another washi swap. :)

For my swap, here's what we'll do:

  • We will first create some washi stationery to write our letters on. Tonight I came across this really fun YouTube video that shows us how easy it is to create our very own washi stationery. Please make at least two pieces.

  • After we create our stationery, we will then write an introductory two-page letter to our swap partner. We will tell about: 1) the kinds of washi we like to collect, 2) our favorite brands, 3) where we get our tape (local stores, online shops - let's include our favorites, as you never know, maybe we'll find a new favorite brand or a new place to buy washi for ourselves!) and 4) what things we like to do with washi. Note: If we run out of room which I'm sure might happen once we get started talking about our washi, we just may have to create a few more pages and keep on writing! :)

  • When we're done writing, we will choose 5 of our favorite washi samples and wrap up 18 inches of each one on a shiny surface from which they can be easily removed. When I say "favorites," these are the tapes that we sometimes buy, but tend to "hoard" for ourselves. Come on, let's share our favorite washi with our washi friends. ;)

  • Lastly, have fun!!

Who knows, we just might even find ourselves a new pen pal who shares our love for washi!

Anyone can join. By signing up though, you are telling me that you are making a commitment to send on time and rate promptly. We want it to be fun for all.

P.S. This is one of those swaps that we can start ahead of time, making our washi stationery and even writing our letter, so we'll be ready to mail fairly soon after partners are assigned.

Very lastly, I apologize for this swap write-up being so detailed; it's how I am I guess. LOL.
